What causes high urine microalbumin?

Microalbuminuria mainly refers to the presence of trace amounts of albumin in the urine. Albumin is a normal protein in the body. If the albumin level is high, it means that you may have some diseases, such as nephritis, urinary tract infection, cysts, etc.

Causes of elevated urine microalbumin

1. Postural proteinuria.

2. Tissue-based proteinuria.

3. Tubular proteinuria.

4. Glomerular proteinuria.

Orthostatic proteinuria may be physiological, but of course pathological factors must be excluded before it can be considered physiological. Protein secreted by the kidney itself is found in tissue proteinuria. The glomerulus can filter proteins. Under normal circumstances, it can only filter small molecules of protein. In pathological cases, the protein molecules passing through become larger and the amount is large.

The renal tubules can reabsorb glomerular filtered proteins, and generally can only reabsorb small molecular proteins. If the large molecular weight protein is not excessive, it can be considered that the glomerular filtration function is normal, but there is a problem with the tubular reabsorption capacity.

Diet for high urine microalbumin

1. When the urine microalbumin is high, you should drink more water, which can help the excretion of uric acid.

2. Avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol can easily cause lactic acid to accumulate in the body, inhibit the excretion of uric acid, and easily induce gout. Strictly abstain from alcohol, and beer and seafood are absolutely prohibited.

3. Avoid eating large amounts of high-purine foods, such as peanuts, beef, pork, seafood, such as animal offal, sardines, tuna, beans and fermented foods. Fish, shrimp, fresh meat, peas, spinach, wine, etc.! Avoid eating stewed or braised meat.

4. The amount of protein in the daily diet should be controlled at about 1 gram per kilogram of body weight. Animal offal such as heart, liver, intestines, kidney, brain, broth, as well as seafood such as sardines, shrimp and shellfish should be eaten less.

5. When the urine microalbumin is high, the patient should eat more fruits and vegetables, but eat less salt. It is best to limit the daily salt intake to 2 to 5 grams.

6. The daily diet structure should be mainly composed of carbohydrates, which can promote the excretion of uric acid. You can choose refined white rice, corn, steamed bread, noodles, etc.
