What are the symptoms of toxic hepatitis?

Many people are prone to poisoning. In fact, most poisoning is caused by improper diet or frequent drinking. The most common one is liver poisoning. The symptoms of toxic hepatitis are mainly nausea and vomiting, persistent abdominal pain, and severe cases may cause loss of appetite, so everyone should be vigilant.

Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, hepatomegaly, increased serum transaminase, and in severe cases, acute liver necrosis. Chronic toxic hepatitis has an insidious onset and mild symptoms, similar to chronic viral hepatitis.

Toxic hepatitis

Toxic liver lesions secondary to bacterial infection. Severe infections such as sepsis, typhoid fever and fulminant meningitis can cause toxic hepatitis. The disease is more common in younger infants, most of whom have obvious previous infection or concurrent infection. The TTT test is mildly positive, and the SGPT value generally does not exceed 200-300U.

Chronic toxic hepatitis

Poisoning reactions caused by long-term exposure to toxic substances such as antimony, arsenic, sulfonamides, anti-tuberculosis drugs, sedatives and sleeping pills (such as chlorpromazine, phenobarbital), etc. The main symptoms are fatigue, poor appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, pain in the liver area, jaundice, etc. If poisoning reaction is found, the drug should be stopped immediately, and the liver should be protected, bile secretion should be promoted, and a high-calorie, high-protein diet should be given.

diagnosis

Toxic hepatitis can be divided into the following four categories based on the wave patterns in the ultrasound image:

1. Severe acute poisoning

For those who are poisoned by a large dose at one time, the damage is serious, and they develop symptoms such as coma. The wave pattern is dense microwaves with sparse wavelets in between, which is somewhat similar to the wave pattern of grade 2 viral hepatitis, but with more wavelets. If there is no continued contact, the above-mentioned acute inflammatory wave pattern will generally disappear within 30-40 hours after poisoning, and will be replaced by one of the following two or three types of waves, which may be caused by liver edema or fatty degeneration.

2. Mild acute poisoning

Within 24 hours, the liver swells and the outgoing wave shifts significantly to the right. There is a flat section between the ingoing and outgoing waves, with one or two small waves occasionally in between. The liver expands and the basin enlarges, but it is still a flat section with no obvious increase in amplitude. This may be caused by liver edema. Generally, the wave pattern is recovered within 10 days, and the microwaves between flat segments gradually increase. The recovery of liver enlargement is often slower than the wave pattern.
