How does rheumatism develop?

Many people have suffered from rheumatic diseases in their daily lives. After suffering from rheumatic diseases, they will be more painful, and the joints will feel very swollen and painful. Therefore, everyone needs to judge that the causes of rheumatic diseases mainly include genetic factors, as well as infection causes and stimulation of sex hormones, etc., which may all lead to joint diseases.

1. Genetic factors

The risk of rheumatoid arthritis in first-degree relatives of patients is 1.5 times higher than that in the general population. The results of twin studies show that among the various factors related to rheumatoid arthritis, genetic factors account for 50% to 60%. Susceptibility genes associated with the onset of rheumatoid arthritis include HLA-DR, PADI4 and PTPN22.

2. Infection factors

Certain viral and bacterial infections may act as initiators, triggering immune responses in individuals carrying susceptible genes, leading to the onset of rheumatoid arthritis. Pathogens associated with rheumatoid arthritis include Epstein-Barr virus, parvovirus B19, influenza virus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

3. Sex hormones

The male-to-female ratio of rheumatoid arthritis incidence is 1:2-4, suggesting that sex hormones may be involved in the pathogenesis. In addition, the condition of female rheumatoid arthritis patients may be alleviated during pregnancy, but is prone to relapse 1 to 3 months after delivery, suggesting that decreased progesterone levels or estrogen-progesterone imbalance may be related to the onset of rheumatoid arthritis.

4. Other factors

Factors such as smoking, cold, trauma and mental stimulation may be related to the occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that rheumatoid arthritis is caused by the invasion of wind, cold, dampness and heat into the body, which destroys the immune system, causing immune system disorders and thus leading to the occurrence of arthritis.

At present, traditional Chinese medicine has a long history and culture in treating rheumatoid arthritis. It is effective, safe, non-toxic, and can regulate the human body to cure the root cause of the disease. It is increasingly favored by rheumatoid arthritis patients.
