What are the blood routine indicators?

In general, routine physical examinations also include routine blood tests. Blood tests can also check many indicators, such as information related to the white blood cell system, platelet system, hemoglobin and red blood cells. These values can be used as a reference and can also reflect your physical condition. It is recommended to ask the doctor for diagnosis.

Leukocyte system:

It is abnormal for the white blood cell count to show “↑” or “↓” in a routine blood test. Its total number is within the normal range, and the normal value will gradually decrease with age. If the value is higher than the high value, inflammation is suspected, which is mostly bacterial infection. If the value is lower than the low value, it may be a viral infection or a drug effect.

Platelet system:

The main function of platelets is to prevent bleeding. If the platelet count is lower than normal, there may be a tendency to bleed.

Red Blood Cells (RBC):

Increased levels indicate polycythemia vera, severe dehydration, cor pulmonale, congenital heart disease, residents of mountainous areas, severe burns, shock, etc. If it is too low, it may be due to anemia or bleeding.

Hemoglobin (Hb):

Increased levels may indicate polycythemia vera, severe dehydration, cor pulmonale, congenital heart disease, severe burns, shock, etc. Degraded to anemia and bleeding.

White blood cells (WBC):

Elevated for various bacterial infections, inflammation, severe burns. Leukemia should be excluded when the level is significantly elevated. A decrease indicates leukopenia, hypersplenism, hematopoietic dysfunction, bone marrow suppression caused by radiation, drugs, chemical toxins, malaria, typhoid, viral infection, and paratyphoid.
