How to treat recurring oral ulcers?

Oral ulcers are very annoying. It is an oral mucosal disease that is prone to recurring. It often causes pain when eating, leads to loss of appetite, and even has the risk of inducing tumors. Therefore, if oral ulcers recur, they must be treated in time. There are many methods of treatment, and certain drug treatments can generally achieve good results. The key is to pay attention to prevention in daily life.

1. Hydrogen peroxide

You can use diamine hydrogen peroxide, which contains hydrogen peroxide and glycerol. The hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen and removes bacteria, the oxygen bubbles into the tiny crevices, and the glycerin coats the ulcer and protects it.

2. Rinse your mouth with potassium chlorate

You can add 1 teaspoon of potassium chlorate to 1 cup of water and gargle with this solution several times a day to treat oral ulcers. But do not swallow.

3. Try black tea bags

Some experts recommend applying a moistened black tea bag to the ulcer. Black tea contains tannic acid, which has an astringent effect and is also a good analgesic.

4. Rinse your mouth with diluted hydrogen peroxide

Dilute 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide in 1 cup of water and gargle with this solution to prevent oral ulcer infection and speed up recovery.

5. Use alum to prevent infection from getting worse

Alum is the active ingredient in hemostatic drugs and can be used in the early stages of oral ulcers. Alum is an antiseptic and analgesic that can prevent the infection from getting worse, but it will not eliminate canker sores.

6. Rinse your mouth with magnesium oxide

Magnesium oxide can form a protective layer on the site of oral ulcers, preventing them from getting infected, and it also has antibacterial effects.

7. Make a mouthwash with goldenseal

Make a strong tea from goldenseal root and use it as a mouthwash. Or make it into a paste and apply it directly on the ulcer, which has good results.

8. Avoid irritants

Coffee, spicy seasonings, orange fruits, arginine-rich nuts, especially walnuts, chocolate and strawberries can irritate oral ulcers and cause oral ulcers in some people. Therefore, such foods should be avoided.

9. Eat yogurt every day

Eating 4 tablespoons of plain yogurt every day can deliver good bacteria into the mouth to fight against harmful bacteria, which is beneficial for preventing oral ulcers.

10. Avoid foods that can cause ulcers

Try not to chew gum, smoke, drink coffee, or other foods that may cause oral ulcers.
