Is there any difference between mites and acne?

Adolescent boys and girls are always troubled by those annoying mites and acne, and are looking for different treatments every day. Facts have proved that mites and acne are two different skin diseases. First of all, their causes are different. Acne is caused by excessive androgen in the body, while acne is caused by cross-infection. In addition, their symptoms and treatment methods are also different.

1. Different causes of disease

Acne is caused by the increase of male hormones in the body and excessive sebum secretion, which leads to the blockage of the sebaceous gland ducts of the hair follicles. Under the infection of bacteria, various types of acne will appear on the skin. Mites are caused by cross infection. When the skin comes into contact with objects contaminated with mites, the mites will grow and reproduce on the sebum, especially in areas rich in sebaceous glands, which are more suitable for mites to parasitize.

2. Different symptoms

The appearance of acne often causes inflammatory papules, pustules, nodules and cysts to appear on the skin. If it is a newly grown acne, there will be a distinction between whiteheads and blackheads. Whiteheads are papules that are similar to the skin color, with unclear openings and are not easy to squeeze out, while blackheads are often located at the top of the hair follicle opening and can be squeezed out. Mites only cause symptoms when the skin's resistance is poor. For most people, mites rarely cause symptoms. When the skin is sensitive to mites, local itching often occurs, and there are secretions of mites on the sebum. If the mite phenomenon is more serious, it will cause severe itching, flushing will appear on the skin surface, accompanied by rash-like nodules, skin thickening, and scabs.

3. Different treatment methods

To treat acne, you need to use the right medicine for the right disease. You can take some antibiotics, or apply some topical drugs such as retinoic acid, azelaic acid, sulfur lotion, etc., as well as anti-androgen treatment, to treat acne, a skin disease, in a targeted manner. As for the treatment of mites, Chinese medicine bathing and soaking the affected area in concentrated salt water and applying it to kill the mites in the sebum can improve this skin disease.
