What are the symptoms of chickenpox?

Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by the initial infection of the herpes zoster virus. It is highly contagious, and a person will only get chickenpox once in his or her lifetime. It is mainly likely to occur in infants and young children, mainly because children and infants have low immunity. So what are the symptoms of chickenpox?

Symptoms of chickenpox:

1. Small red spots appear on the patient's body, starting from the chest and abdomen and then spreading to the entire body. The small red spots grow larger and become blisters filled with fluid.

2. After one or two days, the blisters will burst and form hard crusts or lumps.

3. A new red dot appears again at the same position, and the same process is repeated.

4. New red dots appear two to four times during two to six days.

5. After ten to fourteen days, the red spots will fall off and the condition will be completely healed without leaving any scars.

Chickenpox is transmitted through:

1. Chickenpox is highly contagious. Varicella is an epidemic virus that is highly contagious. 92% of susceptible people will develop the disease after coming into contact with a child with chickenpox.

2. Chickenpox is transmitted in a wide range of ways. Chickenpox is mainly transmitted through direct contact and saliva. As long as children come into contact with people with chickenpox and have not been vaccinated themselves, the chance of infection will be very high.

3. Children’s immunity is low. Low immunity in children is also one of the reasons why they are susceptible to chickenpox virus infection. Children's immune systems are not yet fully developed, so it is difficult for them to resist infection with the chickenpox virus.

4. Infection through the mother. Generally speaking, babies under 6 months old can obtain antibodies from their mothers, so babies in this period basically will not get chickenpox. But there are some individual cases where the pregnant mother contracts chickenpox during pregnancy, in which case the baby may be infected.
