What are pleural nodules?

Pleural nodules are a malignant disease that can endanger human life at any time. So people are very worried about contracting this disease. However, there are many factors that cause pleural nodules, and patients must undergo scientific examinations to better determine the cause of the disease, receive correct treatment, and recover health as soon as possible.

1. Pleural nodules

2. Causes of pleural nodules

There are many causes of lung nodules, such as tuberculosis, tumors and inflammatory pseudotumors, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish them, so a series of examinations are required.

It is recommended to perform percutaneous puncture biopsy to clarify the nature of the nodule; blood, sputum and other related tests can also be performed to assist in diagnosis and treatment.

3. Initial symptoms of pleural nodules

Onset can be acute or slow, but is usually more acute. Symptoms of systemic poisoning include: moderate to high fever, night sweats, fatigue, general malaise, etc. Local symptoms may include chest pain and dry cough. When there is a large amount of pleural effusion, there may be shortness of breath, chest tightness, orthopnea and cyanosis.

4. What conditions can pleural nodules cause?

Pleural nodules can be benign or malignant, and the key lies in the pathological diagnosis. Most of them have no obvious symptoms, but some people may have chest pain. It is recommended to perform CT-guided pleural nodule biopsy to determine the next treatment measure after the diagnosis is confirmed.
