What are the symptoms of allergic pharyngitis

Allergic pharyngitis is a relatively common manifestation of pharyngitis. For example, when a person has rhinitis or a cold, it is easy to induce allergic pharyngitis, which is quite harmful to the patient. It often leads to thickening of the mucous membranes in the nasal cavity and throat, causing diffuse congestion, a foreign body sensation when swallowing, hoarseness of the voice, coughing, nausea, vomiting, etc.

1. Mucosal thickening and diffuse congestion

Symptoms of chronic hypertrophic pharyngitis include thickening of the mucosa, diffuse congestion, or thickening of the palatal arch and soft palate edges, and numerous granular protrusions of lymphoid follicles on the posterior pharyngeal wall.

2. Feeling of a foreign body

There is a foreign body sensation in the throat, which causes itching, slight pain, dryness and burning sensation in the throat.

3. Accompanied by hoarseness and cough

The symptoms of acute pharyngitis are dryness and burning in the throat at the beginning; followed by pain, and the pain in the throat is often more obvious when swallowing saliva than when eating; it may be accompanied by fever, headache, loss of appetite and sore limbs; if it invades the throat, it may be accompanied by hoarseness and cough.

4. Nausea and vomiting

Foreign objects in the throat can cause irritating coughs, or even nausea and vomiting. If examination shows diffuse congestion of the pharyngeal mucosa, dark red in color, and with a small amount of viscous secretions, it is chronic simple pharyngitis.

Try to keep the indoor air moist and clean and do not smoke. The humidifier can be turned on when using air conditioning for heating in winter. Eat less fried and irritating food, eat more cool and throat-soothing fruits such as sugarcane, pears, pomegranates, etc., and rinse your mouth with light salt water every morning.
