Causes and treatments of mandibular joint disorder syndrome

Causes and treatments of mandibular joint disorder syndrome

The incidence of mandibular joint disorder syndrome is getting higher and higher in the current population. This disease is not only harmful, but also has a certain impact on the patient's body and mind. In normal times, it can be eliminated through local reduction correction or doctor's treatment, because mandibular joint diseases are caused by aging, joint wear and tear, and psychological pressure.

1. Causes of temporomandibular joint disorder:

The results of the study show that

1. Mental stress, psychological repression, depression, postpartum depression, exam pressure of junior and high school students, pressure of long-term overtime work performance, etc. are all direct causes of joint disorders.

2. With the increase of age, the wear of the joint bone cartilage, some systemic joint inflammation, rheumatism, immune abnormalities, etc. can also cause temporomandibular joint disorders.

3. Occlusion disorders in the mouth can increase the susceptibility to joint disorders, but they are not the main cause.

4. Temporomandibular joint disorder is also an aging disease. With the increase of age, it becomes a common disease like the "herniated disc" that people often hear. Common diseases such as colds are not serious diseases. Even if they cannot be cured, there is no need to worry too much.

2. Treatment methods for temporomandibular joint disorder:

There are currently three pathways of treatment in the medical field.

1. Orthodontics + conservative joint rehabilitation.

2. Orthodontic treatment + joint surgery.

3. Follow-up + medication to eliminate symptoms.

3. Treatment Procedure:

Temporomandibular joint disorder is often accompanied by malocclusion, mandibular retraction, inability of the front teeth to bite together, and an unsightly facial shape. If you only treat the joints for joint disorder, even if the symptoms are eliminated, you cannot solve the facial shape and bite deformities. Therefore, the key to treating joint disorder is to cooperate with orthodontics. Simple orthodontics cannot treat joint diseases, nor can it prevent joint diseases. If only joint treatment is performed, the recurrence rate of joint disorder may be high due to occlusal disorder and abnormal chewing of the patient.
