How to wash dates

How to wash dates

Many people like to eat dates very much, and they all know that dates have high nutritional value. Dates can replenish blood and qi and regulate the body. At the same time, dates also symbolize happiness, harmony, perfection and auspiciousness. Therefore, during every Chinese New Year or wedding, red dates are indispensable on the table. However, most red dates are dry and have been dried outside for a long time, exposed to wind and sun, and the surface will be particularly dirty. You need to wash the dates in advance before eating them to remove the dirt, dust and bacteria on them.

1. First, fill half of the basin with warm water. The warm water should not be hot, about 40 degrees Celsius. This water temperature will not cause the loss of nutrients in the dates when washing them.

2. Add flour and salt to warm water. Flour has an adsorption effect, which can absorb the small mud and sand in the gaps of the dates. Salt can accelerate the separation of the mud and sand from the dates, making cleaning more convenient, quick and effective.

3. Then pour the dates into the water, stir slowly for a while, and wait for about half an hour. The mud and sand in the dates will be almost separated, and the water will become very dirty.

4. It is best to take the dates out of the basin, replace them with clean water and simply wash them twice.

5. Drain the moisture and dry the moisture on the red dates.

Jujube, also known as big date, jujube, red date, beautiful date and good date, is a deciduous shrub or small tree of the Rhamnaceae family, and is also the mature fruit of the jujube tree. The flowers are small and produce a lot of nectar, making it a nectar-producing plant.

Dates are oval in shape. Ripe dates are brown-red in color, with thin skin and plenty of flesh. They are relatively sweet and have high nutritional value. Unripe dates are yellow in color.

Jujube has been listed as one of the "five fruits" (peach, plum, apricot, jujube, and jujube) since ancient times and has a long history. In the minds of the Chinese people, red dates symbolize happiness, perfection and auspiciousness. Red dates are indispensable in various celebrations and festivals.
