Take 10 tablets of this product, accurately weigh, grind, accurately weigh an appropriate amount (equivalent to about 0.19g of phenolphthalein), place in a 100ml volumetric flask, add ethanol to dissolve phenolphthalein and dilute to the scale, shake well, filter with dry filter paper, accurately measure 20ml of the filtrate, place in a 100ml volumetric flask, add about 40ml of ethanol, mix well, add 10ml of 0.01mol/L hydrochloric acid solution, mix well, dilute to the scale with ethanol, shake well, accurately measure 10ml, place in a 100ml volumetric flask, add 10ml of ethanol, mix well, dilute to the scale with 0.01mol/L hydrochloric acid solution, and shake well. Using 0.01 mol/L hydrochloric acid solution as blank, measure the absorbance at a wavelength of 275 nm according to the spectrophotometer (Appendix Ⅳ A), and calculate according to the absorption coefficient of C20H14O4 (E1% 1cm) of 134 to obtain the value. Dosage

Oral administration: 50-200 mg per time for adults, 15-20 mg per time for children aged 2-5 years, and 25-50 mg per time for children aged 6 years and above. The dosage can be increased or decreased according to the patient's condition and taken before bedtime.

Adverse Reactions

Allergic reactions caused by phenolphthalein are rare in clinical practice, but may occasionally cause dermatitis, drug rash, itching, burning pain, enteritis, bleeding tendency, etc.

Occasionally, reactions such as irregular menstruation may occur.

Regular use of phenolphthalein tablets will lead to drug resistance, and discontinuation of use will also aggravate constipation! It is easy to cause intestinal disorders and dependence.

Taboos

It is contraindicated for use in patients with appendicitis, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, congestive heart failure, hypertension, fecal obstruction, and intestinal obstruction.

Precautions

【Chemical interference】

1. Phenolphthalein can interfere with the phenolsulfonphthalein excretion test (PSP), causing the urine color to turn fuchsin or orange, while accelerating the excretion of phenolsulfonphthalein.

【Use during pregnancy and lactation】

Use with caution in pregnant women and prohibited in breastfeeding women.

【Medication for children】

Use with caution in young children, forbidden for infants.

【Drug Interactions】

If this product is used together with alkaline drugs such as sodium bicarbonate and magnesium oxide, it can cause discoloration of stool.

【Overdose】

Drug overdose or long-term abuse can cause electrolyte imbalance, inducing symptoms such as arrhythmia, confusion, muscle spasms, fatigue and weakness.

【Long-term application】

Long-term use can increase blood sugar and decrease blood potassium. Long-term use may cause drug dependence.
