What should I do if there are large white flakes on my scalp?

People care very much about their self-image in life, because a good and healthy image will leave a better impression on others. Otherwise, no one would like to associate with a sloppy and unkempt person. An important part of the image is hair, and the color and neatness of the hair are the core issues. For example, many people have some impurities on their scalps. These impurities can be dust pollution, or human scalp secretions, etc. Among them, scalp secretions are the most annoying thing and will destroy a person's health image. Let’s take a look at what to do if there are large white flakes of dandruff on your scalp.

This disease, also known as dry seborrhea, is excessive sebum secretion caused by hyperfunction of the sebaceous glands. The main manifestations are oily and greasy scalp and hair, and increased scaling. Diffuse, grayish white, greasy, bran-like scaling on the head, often accompanied by itching. There is usually no obvious inflammation of the scalp. The disease course is chronic and gradually worsens, and over time the hair falls out and becomes sparse. Oval-shaped Pityrosporum fungi can be detected in the dandruff of the head of some patients.

The exact cause and pathogenesis are not yet fully understood and may be due to the influence of multiple factors. Increased androgen levels may be the main reason for increased sebum secretion, and it is also related to age and gender. Clinically, the characteristics of familial distribution can be seen, and there is a certain genetic tendency. In some neurological diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, sebum secretion levels may be twice as high as normal in the advanced stages of the disease.

1. General treatment

Limit excessive intake of animal fats, sugars and spicy foods. Using shampoos with strong alkaline properties will stimulate the secretion of sebaceous glands, so it is better to use neutral or acidic shampoos. Shampoos containing sulfur help remove sebum, keeping hair properly dry and voluminous. Reducing the frequency of hair washing can cause the excess sebum to accumulate, creating counter-pressure and helping to reduce sebum secretion.

2.2.5% selenium disulfide shampoo, 2% ketoconazole shampoo

It has the effect of killing bacteria and fungi, and using it to wash your hair can help remove scales and relieve itching. Those with mild symptoms can take appropriate amounts of vitamin B2, vitamin B6 and vitamin B complex orally.
