Why does my nose become red and swollen and hurt when touched?

If your nose becomes red and swollen, and you are afraid to touch it with your hands, you may have vestibulitis, which is a disease mainly caused by injury and inflammation of the skin of the nasal vestibule. The first thing you need to pay attention to at this time is that you cannot pick your nostrils with your fingers. After all, there are sometimes some germs on our fingers, which can easily lead to worsening of the infection symptoms. Also, do not rub your nose hard. Seek treatment in time. In fact, the treatment method is relatively simple. On the one hand, certain drugs are needed to fight inflammation and kill bacteria. On the other hand, normal saline can be used to moisturize the nasal cavity. This has a good preventive and health-care effect. For chronic vestibulitis, Chinese medicine can be used to treat it, and the effect is also good.

What is vestibulitis

Vestibulitis of nose is a diffuse inflammation of the skin of the nasal vestibule. Frequent nose picking, acute and chronic rhinitis and sinusitis allergic reactions, or nasal foreign body (more common in children) secretion irritation, long-term work in a dusty environment (such as cement, asbestos, fur, tobacco, etc.) can easily induce or aggravate the disease. It is divided into acute and chronic types. In acute cases, the skin of the nasal vestibule is red and swollen. In severe cases, the pain can extend to the junction of the upper lip, with tenderness, epidermal erosion and covered with crusts. In chronic cases, the nasal vestibule itches, burns and forms crusts, the nasal hair falls off, the skin thickens, cracks or is covered with scaly crusts.

Treatment of nasal vestibulitis

In fact, it is very simple: remember to avoid the above four actions, put a wet handkerchief into your nostrils and rotate it every morning and evening to clean your nostrils, and then apply anti-inflammatory ointment locally. If your nasal cavity feels dry, you can use nasal saline spray to moisten it. If the disease is treated and maintained properly, it will generally heal in a week. If it has not healed in more than a week, you should pay attention to whether the above four avoidance actions are actually followed. Of course, you can also consider using stronger antibiotics.

Treatment of nasal vestibulitis

①Boil the residue of Chinese medicine for internal use and apply hot compress locally.

② Use 30g each of lacquer vine, chinaberry leaves and eucalyptus leaves to boil water and wash the affected area.

③ Apply Coptis chinensis paste and Jade dew paste externally to moisturize, relieve pain, reduce swelling and detoxify.

④ Crush almonds and mix with human milk and apply to the affected area. Or use the tender heart of peach leaves, mash it and apply it externally.

⑤ For those with burning pain, you can use Cinnabar Pain-Relieving Powder, mix it with Rehmannia glutinosa juice or sesame oil and apply it to the affected area to clear away heat and relieve pain.
