How to identify whether pink mushrooms are poisonous?

Mushrooms are a type of edible fungus that we often eat. Mushrooms have relatively high nutritional value, and are good in improving immunity and preventing cancer. They also taste very good. We may see some pink mushrooms in our daily lives. There are many types of them, some of which are poisonous mushrooms. So when eating pink mushrooms, you must understand which ones you can eat and which ones you cannot eat to avoid food poisoning.

How to identify

A look at the color

Poisonous mushrooms generally have brightly colored surfaces, including red, green, ink black, purple, etc. The purple ones in particular are often highly poisonous and tend to change color after being picked.

Second, look at the shape

Non-toxic mushrooms usually have a flat cap and a smooth cap. There is no sterile disc at the bottom of the stem and no sterile wheel at the top. Poisonous mushrooms often have a convex cap in the center, a strange shape, a thick and hard surface, and wheels and discs on the stem. The stem is slender or thick and easy to break.

3. Look at the secretions

Tear the strains of freshly picked wild mushrooms into pieces. The non-toxic ones generally secrete clear water (some are white), and the mushroom surface does not change color when torn; the poisonous ones often secrete thick, reddish-brown, and easily change color in the air after being torn.

Four smells

Non-toxic mushrooms generally have a special fragrance, while poisonous mushrooms often have a strange smell.

Summarize

Remember, identifying edible wild mushrooms requires taxonomic expertise, and folklore is not to be trusted. When there is no professional present, if you are not 100% sure based on your own experience or the experience of someone you trust that a certain wild mushroom is edible (experience here means having eaten it and being able to judge by its appearance), then the only correct way is: never eat it!
