What are the methods to remove pubic lice

Everyone knows that pubic lice are small insects that generally like to live in the private parts of the human body where there is more hair, such as the pubic area or armpits. When pubic lice inhabit the body, the skin will feel itchy. When you scratch it, scratches will appear on the skin and there will be bleeding. In severe cases, it can cause folliculitis. Now let's talk about some ways to remove pubic lice?

The easiest way to get rid of pubic lice

1. Shaving pubic hair: Pubic lice will cling tightly to the hair shaft, so shaving pubic hair is necessary for treatment. Shaving and burning your pubic hair will eliminate the habitats of pubic lice. At the same time, sexual intercourse should be avoided, and underwear should be disinfected to keep it clean and hygienic.

2. Drug treatment: Drug treatment for pubic lice usually includes sulfur ointment, lindane lotion, malathion lotion, 25% benzyl benzoate emulsion and permethrin, etc. These drugs all have the effect of killing adult pubic lice and eggs.

How to tell if you have pubic lice

Pubic lice live on the pubic area and perineal hair and have a certain degree of mobility. The pubic hair area and its vicinity are itchy, and scratching causes scratches, blood scabs, or secondary infections such as impetigo and folliculitis. Sometimes, blue spots as big as soybeans or fingernails are seen at the bite site, usually not exceeding 1 cm in diameter. This may be an allergic reaction of the skin to the saliva of the pubic lice. Some people also believe that when the pubic lice suck blood, the saliva enters the blood and causes the hemoglobin to change color, resulting in slight bleeding at the bite site, which turns into blue spots. The spots may continue to exist for several days after the pubic lice are killed. Pubic lice can be found at the opening of hair follicles, and rust-colored lice eggs can be found in the hair shafts.

How are pubic lice transmitted?

1. Sexual intercourse often gives pubic lice the opportunity to find new hosts and infect new hosts, so pubic lice often spreads among promiscuous people.

2. Due to limited living conditions, crowded housing and poor sanitary conditions, sleeping in the same bed and close contact with patients with pubic lice can also transmit the disease.

3. Pubic lice and lice eggs often contaminate underwear, towels, bed sheets, toilets, etc. as pubic hair falls off, and other people may be contaminated by pubic lice when they come into contact with them.
