What is the purpose of a central venous catheter bag

What is the purpose of a central venous catheter bag

The product structure and composition of the central venous catheter package are mainly divided into four types: four-lumen, three-lumen, double-lumen and single-lumen. It is composed of a stainless needle catheter, an external puncture needle, a guide wire, a heparin cap, a syringe and other instruments. This is an ethylene oxide sterilized product and is a disposable item. It has a wide range of uses and is often used in hemodialysis. For repeated infusions, patients can establish a good infusion channel to avoid the pain of repeated punctures.

use

1.Measure central venous pressure (CVP, central venous pressure) to assess circulatory physiological parameters and estimate the amount of body fluid. Because of its purpose of measuring central venous pressure, central venous pressure is often used as a misnomer for CVC in Taiwanese hospitals.

2. Large-volume and rapid intravenous infusion is often used in surgeries where a large amount of blood loss may occur, or to maintain blood pressure during emergency treatment.

3. The route of administration of long-term parenteral nutrition, long-term antibiotic injection, and long-term analgesic injection.

4. For drugs that are more irritating to the peripheral veins (small veins), inject them through the central venous catheter instead. For example: amiodarone, etc.

5. Hemodialysis tubes, such as plasma exchange or dialysis

6. Chemotherapy of tumors, prevention of chemical phlebitis, and prevention of drug extravasation.

7. Establish a good infusion channel for patients who need repeated infusions to avoid the pain of repeated punctures.

8. Establish infusion access for critically ill patients.

Methods and Materials

The puncture site is routinely disinfected and draped. After local anesthesia with 2% procaine, a disposable syringe is used to test the blood return, and then the central venous catheter puncture needle is introduced in the original direction. The needle is slowly inserted under negative pressure to draw out fresh blood. The left hand holds the needle, and the right hand introduces the guide wire to the appropriate length. The needle is withdrawn while the guide wire is inserted. The dilator expands the subcutaneous tissue, and a deep venous catheter is inserted through the guide wire, which is then connected to a three-way infusion device. The catheter is fixed with three semicircular sutures.

Topical skin care

In addition to closely observing the local skin for inflammatory reactions such as redness, swelling, heat and pain, the puncture site should be disinfected with iodine or alcohol every day. After evaporation and drying, iodine tincture should be added because iodine tincture has the property of gradually releasing iodine and can have a continuous sterilization effect.
