Are there any side effects of washing ears in the hospital?

When we were young, our mothers would clean our ears, and a lot of earwax would come out. Earwax is actually a substance metabolized by the human body and is excreted from the body in the form of earwax. If it is not removed in time, it will affect normal hearing. Now hospitals can wash ears. The purpose is to remove earwax and restore hearing. The hospital will disinfect the ears before washing to prevent infection inside the ears, which is relatively safe.

Make sure you don't have an ear infection or a perforated eardrum, as cleaning your ears at home can be extremely dangerous. If you suspect you have an ear problem, do not use this method and make an appointment with your doctor immediately for a checkup. Symptoms of an ear infection include:

fever.

Vomiting or diarrhea.

Green or yellow discharge from the ear.

Persistent severe ear pain.

Make your own earwax softening solution. You can purchase carbamide peroxide cleaning solution at your local pharmacy, or you can make your own earwax softening solution. Mix warm water with any of the following ingredients.

One or two teaspoons of 3-4% hydrogen peroxide solution

One or two teaspoons of mineral oil

One or two teaspoons of glycerin

Prepare an applicator (optional). If you don't have an applicator handy, you can also pour the solution from the bowl directly into your ear. Of course, if you have an applicator, this can make the process much cleaner and easier.

You may choose to use a large plastic syringe with a plastic tip, a rubber-tipped syringe, or a dropper.

Fill the applicator with the solution. Aspirate the solution until it is more than half full.

Tilt your head to the side. Try to keep the ear canal as close to vertical as possible to make the cleaning process smoother. The ear to be cleaned faces upward.

You can also lie on your side if you can. Just make sure to place a towel under your head to absorb any excess solution that comes out.

Slowly put the solution into your ear. Pour the solution in the bowl directly into your ear, or bring the tip of the syringe a few inches up the ear canal (not into the ear canal) and squeeze.
