Yunnan Baiyao is used to treat skin diseases. It can be taken orally or applied externally, or both, and has satisfactory therapeutic effects.

1. Urticaria

Urticaria is a localized reaction caused by dilation and increased permeability of small blood vessels in the skin and mucous membranes due to various causes such as food (such as fish, shrimp, etc.), inhalants (such as pollen, feathers, etc.), drugs (such as penicillin, sulfonamide, etc.), and infections (such as bacterial infection, viral infection, etc.). Clinically, it manifests as itchy skin and the appearance of wheals of varying sizes, which are mostly isolated and scattered but may also merge into patches. It occurs suddenly and may disappear within a few hours, but new wheals may occur one after another and may occur multiple times in one day. In severe cases, symptoms of anaphylactic shock such as palpitations, irritability, nausea, vomiting, and even low blood pressure may be seen.

Yunnan Baiyao has the effects of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, stopping bleeding and promoting tissue regeneration, reducing swelling and relieving pain. This medicine has both movement and stopping. It can disperse stasis and stop flow. From the perspective of TCM dialectical analysis, urticaria is caused by wind evil invading the surface of the body, obstructing the blood vessels, causing wind, dampness, qi and blood to stagnate in the skin; it is also caused by a diet that is too fatty, sweet, and dry, which causes imbalance of the nutrition and defense system, dysfunction of the pores, and obstruction of the skin and meridians. Therefore, Yunnan Baiyao is used to disperse the blood stasis, clear the blockage, and stop the seepage of moisture. The blood stasis can be cleared and the seepage can be stopped, thus achieving the effect of reducing swelling and relieving itching. Taking Yunnan Baiyao has quick and lasting effects, is effective for both acute and chronic urticaria, and has no toxic side effects.

Treatment method: 1 bottle of Yunnan Baiyao. Adults take 1/8 bottle orally each time, and add a safety pill on the first time; children under 9 years old take 1/16 bottle each time; children aged 10-15 years old take 1/12 bottle each time, 3 times a day; children do not need to take a safety pill. Dissolve in warm water and swallow. 3 times a day. If no effect is seen after taking 2 bottles in a row, stop taking it.
