Pharmacology and Toxicology

This product is a bacteriostatic antibiotic. It has highly effective antibacterial activity against aerobic Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus (including penicillin-resistant strains), Streptococcus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, and Bacillus anthracis. It also has good antibacterial activity against Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria. The genus Saccharomyces, including Bacteroides fragilis and Fusobacterium, are highly susceptible.

This product acts on the 50S subunit of the ribosome of sensitive bacteria, preventing the extension of the peptide chain, thereby inhibiting the protein synthesis of bacterial cells. It is generally an antibacterial agent. But at high concentrations, it also has a bactericidal effect, and lidocaine has a local anesthetic and analgesic effect.

Green ointment is an over-the-counter dermatological drug. Over-the-counter drugs are medicines that can be purchased and used at one's own discretion without a doctor's prescription. Its main ingredients are: lincomycin hydrochloride and lidocaine hydrochloride. Used for various skin infections caused by burns and mosquito bites.

When using green ointment, apply it externally to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day. Occasionally, skin irritation such as burning sensation or allergic reaction such as rash and itching may occur. If there is a burning sensation, redness or swelling at the medication site, stop taking the medication and wash off the local medication. Consult a physician if necessary. Avoid contact with eyes and other mucous membranes (such as mouth, nose, etc.). Green ointment should not be used on a large area for a long time.

At the same time, the lidocaine hydrochloride in the green ointment is an amide local anesthetic. After absorption into the blood or intravenous administration, it has a significant biphasic effect of excitation and inhibition on the central nervous system, and there may be no precursor excitation. When the blood concentration is low, analgesia and drowsiness occur, and the pain threshold increases. As the dose increases, the effect or toxicity increases, and it has an anticonvulsant effect at sub-toxic blood concentrations.

The other ingredient, lincomycin hydrochloride (lincomycin), is a medicine that can treat a variety of infections. It mainly inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell proteins and is mainly used clinically for various infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as pneumonia, meningitis, endocarditis, cellulitis, tonsillitis, erysipelas, furunculosis and urinary tract infections.
