1. First of all, we should deal with the source of the burn as soon as possible. If a high-temperature foreign object comes into contact with the skin, it must be removed quickly. For example, when children drink scalding water, they subconsciously dodge, causing the water to soak into the collar of their shirt. At this time, the most important thing is to quickly unbutton and take off the shirt to prevent the heat from further penetrating deeper into the body and damaging the tissues.

2. In some extreme cases, if your clothes catch fire, you should take them off quickly. If you don’t have time, you should take measures such as immersing them in water or rolling around to put out the fire. Never stand up, run or shout when your clothes are on fire, because doing so will cause the flames to ignite more clothes and even burn your head. Opening your mouth to shout will cause heated air to be inhaled into your mouth, burning the respiratory mucosa.

3. 5. For small-area burns, especially those on the limbs, the wound can be rinsed under tap water or immersed in clean water at 15-20°C. For parts of the body that are inconvenient to wash, you can use a towel soaked in cold water, or a piece of frozen meat in the freezer of the refrigerator, wrap it in the towel and apply it to the wound. Generally speaking, cold therapy lasts until the severe pain is no longer felt, which usually takes 0.5 to 1 hour.
