Why does eating pasta cause stomach acid

Why does eating pasta cause stomach acid

In China, the meals on the table are all about having a main dish, side dishes and soup. The soup warms the stomach before meals and supplements and aids digestion after meals. Side dishes are all kinds of dishes that can increase people's appetite. The most indispensable is the staple food, which includes rice, flour, steamed buns, cakes and other things made of flour. Eating staple food can make people feel full, but some of the noodles nowadays are not produced up to standard, and some do not contain alkali. Pasta itself is acidic and will irritate the stomach. Let's understand why eating pasta will cause stomach acid.

This is generally considered to be chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer. Most cases can be cured after treatment, but a few will relapse. It is generally not serious. You can choose drugs that inhibit gastric acid, such as omeprazole, rabeprazole, etc., and the course of treatment is 4-6 weeks; you should develop good eating habits, eat regularly and quantitatively, and do not overeat or eat before going to bed.

Although noodles are alkaline food, most noodles nowadays do not contain alkali, so it is possible to cause acid reflux and heartburn after eating noodles. After eating noodles, there is too much stomach acid and a feeling of heartburn. This situation may be related to the gastric acid secretion caused by eating food that is difficult to digest. It may also be due to common causes such as gastritis and gastroesophageal reflux. For severe hyperacidity, it is recommended to eat less noodles or not eat them at all. If you experience heartburn after eating noodles many times, there may be a cause. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for timely treatment and have a gastroscopy to clarify the cause.

Steps/Methods:

1. Pay attention to a balanced diet at all times. Eat until you are 80% full at each meal. If you have excessive stomach acid, you need to eat more alkaline foods and soda crackers. In case of severe hyperacidity, eating more carrots, soybeans and other foods can help reduce acid. Usually, pay attention to drinking more boiled water, eating a light diet, and avoid eating raw, cold, fried, or spicy foods. Avoid foods that trigger heartburn.

2. Do not lie down in bed or bend over immediately after a meal, and do not start strenuous exercise immediately. A wise choice is to take a leisurely walk thirty minutes after a meal, which can help digestion and relieve the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn. Excessive stress may also cause excessive stomach acid, so always maintain a good attitude and make sure to rest.

3. If the above methods do not work, you can also choose some antacids, such as calcium carbonate tablets, aluminum hydroxide gel, etc. These medicines can neutralize stomach acid and quickly eliminate heartburn symptoms. However, if these drugs are taken for a long time, they may cause constipation or diarrhea.

This may be a symptom caused by increased stomach acid, and you need to take active medication for symptomatic treatment. You can take omeprazole capsules or metoclopramide tablets.
