Three drugs for treating tuberculosis

Three drugs for treating tuberculosis

The impact and harm caused by tuberculosis are relatively large, and there are many types of tuberculosis, so patients should pay more attention to understanding these diseases. Symptomatic treatment is the way to reduce harm. Currently, commonly used drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis are rifampicin, rifapentine and ethambutol, etc. However, everyone should pay attention that any use of any drug must be consulted with a professional doctor.

1. Common drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis include streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin, rifapentine, ethambutol, cycloserine, pyrazinamide, etc. (some antibiotics, such as kanamycin, also have a certain effect on it and can be used in combination with these drugs). The specific medication depends on the situation (whether the patient has contraindications to the drug, the drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, etc.). In general, the first choice of drugs is streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin, rifapentine, etc. If the tuberculosis bacteria develop drug resistance, it is generally treated with drugs such as cycloserine and ethambutol. Of course, if the side effects are too great or the tuberculosis bacteria become drug-resistant, Chinese medicine can also be used for treatment, and the effect is also very good. The specific medication depends on the situation. It should be pointed out that Mycobacterium tuberculosis can easily develop drug resistance, so several drugs are generally used in combination for treatment.

2. Dietary conditioning principles for pulmonary tuberculosis: provide adequate calories, high-quality and sufficient protein, supplement calcium-containing foods, and promote calcification. It provides rich vitamins, helps the body recover health, reduces the side effects of anti-tuberculosis drugs and helps calcium absorption. Supplement minerals and water in appropriate amounts, such as iron, potassium, sodium and water. Pay attention to dietary adjustments. Patients do not need to abstain from certain foods. Food should be diversified, with a combination of meat and vegetables. The food should also have color, fragrance and taste to stimulate the patient's appetite and increase the amount of food eaten.

3. When tuberculosis patients are undergoing chemotherapy, their diet must meet the requirements of high calories, high protein, and rich in vitamins and trace elements. This is because tuberculosis patients often suffer from low-grade fever, night sweats, and even hemoptysis. Their bodies become increasingly thin and they consume a lot of heat energy. In addition, the chemical drugs' toxic side effects also damage their physical constitution. According to the traditional Chinese medical principle of strengthening the body and eliminating evil, a nutritious diet should be chosen. However, since tuberculosis patients have weak spleen and stomach and low digestion and absorption capacity, their diet should be light and avoid excessive sweet, fatty and greasy foods. Foods such as fish, eggs, dairy products, lean meat, old hens, honey, peanuts, lotus seeds, lilies, dates, chestnuts, pears, persimmons, sesame seeds, oranges, green vegetables, winter melon, lotus roots, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, beans, and soy products are all acceptable.
