Diarrhea with some blood

Diarrhea with some blood

Many people have had diarrhea, especially in the summer, when diarrhea is more likely to occur. This is because the food we eat in summer is complex, with both cold and hot foods. However, you should pay attention. If you have diarrhea frequently and the diarrhea contains some blood, you should be careful and be vigilant. At the same time, you should go to the hospital for examination in time to see if you have other diseases to avoid causing more damage to your body.

Diarrhea and bloody stools are both common symptoms, but when diarrhea and bloody stools occur together, patients should be alert. Generally speaking, if the blood in the stool is brown, it indicates a gastrointestinal problem. If the blood in the stool is bright red, it may be an anal problem. If it's accompanied by stomach pain, there's probably a problem with your colon or rectum.

There are many reasons for bloody diarrhea, and the following possibilities cannot be ignored:

1. Hemorrhoids: Hemorrhoids are the most common cause. Generally, internal hemorrhoids cause bleeding in the stool. Bleeding in the stool occurs during or after defecation, and is in the form of drops or spurts. The blood is bright red and is not discharged at the same time as the feces. It may be accompanied by prolapse of a tumor.

2. Intestinal polyps: This disease causes less bleeding, which is bright red in color and is not discharged with the stool. It may be accompanied by mucus. Polyps in the anus may sometimes protrude outside the anus.

3. Chronic colitis: pain in the lower left abdomen, diarrhea, or alternating constipation and diarrhea, which can get better or worse and recur repeatedly. Severe abdominal pain may occur in critically ill patients.

4. Anal atrophy: The amount of blood in the stool is small, and the blood in the stool is mixed with feces, presenting pus and blood, and is bright red in color. There is tenderness in the left lower abdomen accompanied by nausea and vomiting.

Diarrhea with blood usually cannot be cured by medication, it can only relieve the symptoms. If a patient has bloody diarrhea, he should be examined and treated early to increase the chance of cure. If you choose to ignore it, it may lead to intestinal perforation, intestinal obstruction or even gastrointestinal bleeding. After the above symptoms occur, surgical treatment is required and they are prone to recurrence. Therefore, diarrhea with blood must be treated early.
