What causes bilateral kidney stones

What causes bilateral kidney stones

As we all know, kidney stones are calcium carbonate that grows in the kidneys. These stones are called stones. Bilateral kidney stones mean that these stones grow in both the left and right kidneys. When kidney stones occur, it is enough to make the patient unable to live a normal life. The pain caused by bilateral kidney stones is even more unbearable. So what causes bilateral kidney stones? Here are some of the causes of bilateral kidney stones.

1. Excessive protein

Protein Excess: Chemical analysis of the composition of kidney stones revealed that calcium oxalate accounted for 87.5% of the stones. The reason why calcium oxalate has such a large specific gravity is that in addition to containing the raw materials of oxalic acid - glycine and hydroxyproline, protein can also promote the absorption of calcium by the intestinal function. If you often consume excessive amounts of high-protein foods, the calcium, oxalic acid, and uric acid content in your kidneys and urine will generally increase. If excess protein cannot be excreted from the body through the kidneys in time, it will provide conditions for the formation of kidney stones.

2. Excessive accumulation of oxalic acid

The large accumulation of oxalic acid in the body is one of the factors that lead to kidney stones. Many foods we eat in our daily lives contain oxalic acid. For example, spinach, beans, grapes, cocoa, tea, potatoes, plums, oranges, tomatoes, bamboo shoots, etc. These foods that people generally like to eat are foods with high oxalic acid content. Animal offal, seafood, peanuts, beans, spinach, etc. all contain more purine. After purine enters the body, it undergoes metabolism, and the final product of its metabolism is uric acid. Uric acid can promote the precipitation of oxalate in urine and form urinary stones

3. Excessive intake of fat

Meat from various animals, especially fatty pork, are foods high in fat. Eating too much will inevitably increase body fat. Fat will reduce the amount of calcium that can be bound in the intestines, thereby increasing the absorption of oxalate. Once the excretion function fails, such as sweating a lot, drinking less water, and less urine output, kidney stones are likely to form under such circumstances.

The above three are the most common causes of bilateral kidney stones, and we should avoid them in our daily lives.
