Home termite control methods

Termites are also known as white grasshoppers, big water bugs, etc. They are a global pest and are also social polymorphic harmful insects. They are a huge organization with each member performing its own duties. They are destructive to some wooden buildings, and humans have been fighting against them but have never been able to gain the upper hand. So what should you do if termites appear in your home? Precautions

Pre-treating a house for termites is the key to preventing and controlling termites. This work should be done before the house is built, renovated, expanded, or decorated.

(I) Termite prevention in newly built houses

On-site preparation before construction. The main purpose is to cut off the termite food left on the site, indirectly eliminate termites and reduce the possibility of termites survival.

.Termite prevention treatment of wall foundations, floors and soil. If an infestation is found in a newly constructed house, it must be dealt with thoroughly, including the use of physical methods and chemicals to kill termites in the foundation, leaving no hidden dangers.

.Pretreatment of wooden components. The purpose of treating wooden components is to cut off the water supply lines of termites, avoid direct damage by termites and extend the service life of wooden components. The pretreatment of wooden components can be done by brushing or soaking with termite-killing drugs, or by high-temperature treatment above 60°C.

(II) Termite prevention of decorative materials

When renovating a home, the home decoration materials must be pre-processed to avoid bringing termites into the house. The pretreatment method of home decoration materials is basically the same as that of wood components.

3. Keep indoor and outdoor areas clean

Clear away clutter and place items indoors in order, leaving no waste that may attract termites, especially no wood waste, paper, worn-out clothing, etc.

We should also pay attention to the prevention of termites in the home. Especially before house decoration, termite prevention treatment should be carried out on indoor walls, floors, door frames, decorative wood, etc. Screen doors and windows can be installed in home residences to prevent termites from flying into the house. Once swarming ants (i.e. termites that specialize in reproduction) fly into the house, it is easy for termite nests to form in the home, causing harm. If you see termites flying around at night, you should close the doors and windows, then turn on a light on the balcony and put a basin of water under the light. The termites will fall into the water and drown. Because flying termites are phototactic. At the same time, you should keep the room clean and tidy, and clean up old clothes, furniture, sundries, etc. in time; keep the room dry and ventilated, especially after rain, because termites like to live in damp and hidden places.
