Normal values of blood cell analysis

Normal values of blood cell analysis

Whether it is a normal physical examination or a physical problem, a routine blood test is usually required. A routine blood test is a blood test. The results of this test can determine whether people's blood cells are within normal values. Of course, the scope of routine blood tests is also very broad, including the analysis of blood cells. So what range of blood cells is normal? Let us learn about it below.

Blood routine reference range:

If people check their blood routine, they mainly look at the following indicators:

1| And cell count and hemoglobin determination. The main function of red blood cells is to supply oxygen to the whole body and expel carbon dioxide from the body, and this function is mainly accomplished by the hemoglobin in the red blood cells. Generally speaking, both are relatively fixed.

2|White blood cell count and white blood cell differential count. Doctors use the number of white blood cells to determine whether the body is infected, and then use the classification of white blood cells to determine the type of infection and what medication to use.

3|Platelets. The main function of platelets is blood coagulation. Without them, excessive bleeding may be life-threatening.

Below is an analysis of the normal range of blood routine values for children aged 4-5 years old. Red blood cells: 4.4×1012/L, hemoglobin: 134g/L, white blood cells 8×109/L, neutrophils: 0.58N%, lymphocytes 0.34L%, platelets 250-300×109/L.

General blood tests:

1|Red blood cell count (RBC)

[Normal reference value]

Male: 4.0×1012-5.3×1012/L (4 million-5.5 million/mm3).

Female: 3.5×1012-5.0×1012/L (3.5 million-5 million/mm3).

Children: 4.0×1012-5.3×1012 cells/L (4 million-5.3 million/mm3).

[Clinical significance]

Erythropenia is common in various anemias, such as acute and chronic aplastic anemia, iron deficiency anemia, etc.

Erythrocytosis is common in hypoxia, hemoconcentration, polycythemia vera, emphysema, etc.

2|Hemoglobin measurement (Hb)

[Normal reference value]

Male: 120-160 g/L (12-16 g/dL).

Female: 110-150 g/L (11-15 g/dL).

Children: 120-140 g/L (12-14 g/dL).

[Clinical significance]

Decreased hemoglobin is common in various anemias, such as acute and chronic aplastic anemia, iron deficiency anemia, etc.

Increased hemoglobin is common in cases of hypoxia, hemoconcentration, polycythemia vera, emphysema, etc.

3|White blood cell count (WBC)

[Normal reference value]

Adult: 4×109-10×109/L (4000-10000/mm3).

Newborn: 15×109-20×109/L (15000-20000/mm3).

[Clinical significance]

Physiological leukocytosis is often seen in strenuous exercise, after eating, during pregnancy, and in newborns. In addition, different blood collection sites may also result in differences in white blood cell counts. For example, the average white blood cell count in earlobe blood is higher than that in finger blood.

Pathological leukocytosis is often seen in acute suppurative infection, uremia, leukemia, tissue damage, acute bleeding, etc.

Pathological leukopenia, aplastic anemia, certain infectious diseases, cirrhosis, hypersplenism, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, etc.
