What's the matter with the small lump of flesh behind the anus?

The anus is our anus, which is used for excretion. Sometimes, because we do not pay attention to its hygiene, it is more susceptible to viral infection and cause adverse reactions. The growth of small fleshy balls behind the anus is a common situation. It will be relatively large in daily life, making it uncomfortable when walking, sitting, and defecating. So what's the matter with the small ball behind the anus?

1. Perianal abscess: What is the reason for a lump of flesh growing on the anus? A hard lump rises around the anus and gradually grows larger. Over time, some of them may burst on their own. It manifests as persistent swelling or throbbing pain that gradually becomes more severe, making it difficult for the patient to walk and unable to sit upright. Patients may also experience symptoms such as fever, general fatigue and discomfort, loss of appetite, and poor sleep.

2. External hemorrhoids: mainly seen in inflammatory external hemorrhoids and thrombosed external hemorrhoids. Inflammatory external hemorrhoids generally present as anal pain, heaviness, and discomfort; thrombosed external hemorrhoids are generally caused by factors that increase abdominal pressure such as straining during defecation and coughing. They are very painful and a bluish skin bulge can be seen on the outside.

3. Rectal polyps: They are common benign tumors of the rectum, which can be single or multiple. Most polyps are round or oval tumors with pedicles. They are prone to occur at the lower end of the rectum. They can protrude from the anus during defecation and retract after defecation. Adenomatous polyps are precancerous lesions that can turn into rectal lesions if treatment is delayed.

4. Chronic anal fissure: Due to long-term and repeated fissures, local inflammation and hyperplasia occur repeatedly, forming a protruding structure similar to external hemorrhoids, which is located just on the outermost edge of the anus, sometimes leading to inflammation and edema causing pain.

Nursing measures:

1. Eat a light diet and eat less gas-producing foods, such as bean products (soybeans, soy milk, soy milk, etc.), and foods that are prone to diarrhea, such as bananas, which can effectively reduce the number of bowel movements.

2. If your financial situation allows, you can choose to use disposable anal bags, which are available in many specifications. You can go to a large pharmacy such as the First Medical Store to inquire. You can also use an anal bag that can be cleaned repeatedly, as long as it is cleaned and dried.

3. The skin around the stoma should be kept clean and dry and can be washed with warm water. If the skin around the stoma becomes red, swollen and inflamed, you can buy zinc oxide ointment or erythromycin ointment and apply it on the skin around the stoma.

4. If you use a disposable anal bag, cut it according to the size of the stoma with scissors before each use. Then stick it on after the skin is cleaned and dried. Make sure it fits the stoma completely, otherwise it will leak.
