How to remove the dregs of homemade wine

Wine is a kind of alcohol made from grapes. The alcohol concentration of this wine is relatively low, and it does not taste like ordinary wine. It has a slightly astringent and relatively sweet and sour taste. In addition to being available on the market, we can also make our own wine at home. However, this production method is more troublesome, and it requires descumming. So how do you descum yourself when brewing homemade wine?

The seeds and skins of grapes must be retained because they contain tannins that are very beneficial to the human body and pigments that determine the color of the wine. (You can't make red wine from peeled grapes.)

The skin residue should be filtered out after about a week of alcoholic fermentation. Generally speaking, bubbles will appear 24 hours after the grapes are placed in the container, and the foam will gradually increase afterwards. If you find that the grape skins are floating and the juice is overflowing, stir it twice a day with a spoon, press the floating grape skins in (called the wine cap) so that the grape skins can be fully soaked in the grape juice. The fermentation process is intense in the first few days, the temperature rises, and then gradually drops to room temperature. The carbon dioxide bubbles decrease and approach calm, the wine cap sinks, and the juice color changes from dark to light and begins to become clear. This process is short when the temperature is high and long when the temperature is low. After five to seven days, the grape skins float on the liquid surface, while the grape seeds, flesh and residue sink to the bottom of the container. At this time, the first fermentation is completed and filtering begins.

Grape seeds are also very rich in nutrients, but because the human body is not easily absorbed when consumed directly, they should be crushed and ground into powder and put into capsules. Taking one capsule a day is also a very good health and nutritional product.

Grape skins are very rich in nutrients. It is very good to add a little bit to soups, porridge, steamed buns, or pancakes.

Gauze filtration: prepare a wine funnel, put some clean gauze in the funnel, insert the lower end into the prepared wine container, pour the unfiltered wine directly into it, and the gauze will slowly filter out impurities such as peels and cores.
