One side of the gum is high, causing the face to be crooked

We all know that everyone loves beauty, and the correctness of the facial features is the prerequisite for beauty. As the carrier of the facial features, it is particularly important for the face to be straight. If the face is crooked or uneven, it is impossible for the facial features to remain straight and it is also impossible to be beautiful and natural. High gums are a common symptom on the gums. If only one side of the gums is high, it may cause facial crookedness. So what should you do if one side of your gums is higher, causing your face to be crooked?

Reasons for high gums :

1. Premature senile atrophy: occurs in young people, with uniform periodontal tissue recession in the entire mouth, no obvious local irritation factors or inflammation, and the cause is unclear.

2. Food impaction: Long-term food impaction stimulates local gum tissue, causing gum recession and exposed tooth roots.

3. Tooth root exposure may be due to physiological changes. With age, the alveolar bone shrinks and the gums recede. This senile periodontal atrophy often occurs in multiple teeth in the entire mouth.

4. Gingival recession caused by systemic diseases or chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other factors.

5. Improper brushing methods: using a hard toothbrush, brushing horizontally for too long, and excessive friction between the toothbrush and periodontal and tooth tissues will not only expose the tooth roots but may even wear and break the tooth tissues. Improper brushing not only fails to protect teeth, but also damages teeth and periodontal tissues. This is a typical mechanical gum atrophy.

6. Periodontal disease: Due to the long-term presence of tartar and plaque in the oral cavity, the periodontal tissue is always in a state of chronic inflammation. Many people have bad or bloody breath when they wake up in the morning, and their gums bleed when they brush their teeth or eat. Over time, the gums and alveolar bones that protect the tooth roots shrink due to the erosion of chronic inflammation, exposing the tooth roots.

7. Long-term damage and stimulation to periodontal tissues cause periodontal atrophy and exposed tooth roots. This is mainly caused by the long-term mechanical stimulation of the metal clasps of removable dentures on the gums and periodontal tissues, as well as the pressure on the gums caused by improper denture restoration.

8. It is gingival recession due to disuse. Due to misaligned teeth, unilateral chewing, and untimely repair of missing opposing teeth, the periodontal tissue lacks the necessary functional stimulation, leading to alveolar bone loosening, absorption, and root exposure.

Correction method:

1. The simplest method, as the ancients said: smile without showing your teeth. In fact, you just need to be more subtle and appear gentle and elegant, and there is no need to laugh out loud. If necessary, you can use your hands to cover your smile, which will not be impolite but appear elegant.

2. When smiling, it is normal for the upper teeth to show 0-2mm. The reason for showing gums may be a short upper lip, a soft tissue problem that cannot be solved by orthodontics. If the cause is excessive alveolar bone growth, orthodontics can solve this problem. If you mind, you can go to the hospital to see if there is any surgical treatment.
