Eat crab and kiwi together

Eat crab and kiwi together

Although crabs have great nutritional value and are very nourishing to the human body, they are themselves very cold foods and are naturally incompatible with some foods. If you accidentally eat them together, it may cause gastrointestinal diseases at the very least, or even poisoning at the worst. We all know that it is not easy to eat foods high in vitamin C, such as oranges and tangerines, after eating crabs. So, can crabs and kiwis be eaten together?

1. Crabs and kiwis cannot be eaten together

No, crabs contain pentavalent arsenic compounds, which are harmless to the human body. However, if eaten with kiwifruit, which is rich in vitamin C, the pentavalent arsenic will meet with vitamin C and be converted into trivalent arsenic, which contains highly toxic arsenic. If consumed together for a long time, as the poison accumulates, it may cause poisoning symptoms such as convulsions and nausea.

2. Persimmon

It is recorded in "Compendium of Materia Medica": "Eating persimmons together with crabs will cause diarrhea." One of the bases of this theory is that crab meat is rich in protein, while persimmons contain a lot of tannic acid. When protein meets tannic acid, it will coagulate into lumps and deposit in the gastrointestinal tract, affecting digestion and easily causing stones. In severe cases, it can block the gastrointestinal tract and cause intestinal obstruction, accompanied by severe abdominal pain, vomiting, and sometimes even gastric bleeding. In addition, from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, crabs and persimmons are both cold foods. People with cold constitutions will feel even colder when eating cold foods, which can easily cause symptoms of stomach cold, abdominal pain, and even diarrhea.

3. Pears

Pears are cool fruits, while crabs are cold foods. If they are eaten together, it is easy to damage the spleen and stomach and cause indigestion. People with weak spleen and stomach should be especially careful when eating them.

4. Cantaloupe

Muskmelon is the melon we often eat. Muskmelon is sweet, cold and slippery in nature. It has the effects of facilitating bowel movements, ventilating, clearing lung heat and quenching thirst. However, due to its cold nature, eating too much can easily cause indigestion or abdominal distension and diarrhea. Eating it at the same time with cold crabs can easily damage the stomach and intestines.

5. Pomegranate

Pomegranates contain a lot of tannic acid, while crabs are rich in protein. Eating them together will reduce the nutritional value of the protein in crabs. Moreover, the calcium in crabs and the tannic acid in pomegranates will combine into a substance that is difficult to digest, causing gastrointestinal irritation and causing symptoms of diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

6. Grapes

Crabs are rich in protein. If eaten with fruits containing tannic acid, such as persimmons, grapes, pomegranates, hawthorns, and green fruits, it will not only reduce the nutritional value of the protein, but also easily cause the protein to combine with tannic acid to form a coagulated substance that is difficult to digest. This substance can irritate the mucous membrane and cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
