What is the cause of duodenitis?

What is the cause of duodenitis?

Gastrointestinal diseases are one of the important factors that threaten people's health, because the incidence of intestinal diseases is very high, which is mostly caused by irregular eating leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction. For example, the duodenum is the concentrated location of the disease, which can cause great harm to people's bodies. Among them, duodenitis is very common. Let's take a look at the cause of duodenitis.

Duodenitis refers to a nonspecific infectious disease occurring in the duodenal bulb and is a common gastrointestinal disease. The clinical symptoms of this disease lack characteristic features, mainly manifested as upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, hematemesis and black stools. Similar to gastritis, it is mostly superficial and the inflammation is limited to the mucosal layer. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish from duodenal ulcer. This disease is a digestive system disease, and is usually accompanied by chronic gastritis, cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis, chronic pancreatitis and other diseases.

The cause is not yet fully understood. It may be related to the following factors:

1. Infection: infection with parasites, tuberculosis, fungi, etc., Helicobacter pylori infection is the most common.

2. Diseases: Hemorrhagic duodenitis caused by cerebrovascular disease and myocardial infarction, duodenal blood supply disorders caused by portal hypertension, heart failure, etc.

3. External factors: irritating foods, drugs such as aspirin, drinking, radiation exposure, etc. can all cause this disease.

Clinical manifestations

1. Symptoms: upper abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting, often accompanied by other indigestion symptoms such as early satiety, bloating, acid reflux, belching, nausea, and vomiting. Sometimes it resembles duodenal bulb ulcer, presenting with periodic, rhythmic upper abdominal pain and hunger pain.

2. Physical signs: There is mild tenderness in the upper abdomen. Some patients may have glossitis, anemia and weight loss.

3. Complications: Erosive duodenitis complicated by upper gastrointestinal bleeding, may cause black stools or hematemesis.

treat

1. General treatment: All possible factors that may cause the disease should be eliminated, such as avoiding food and medicine that are highly irritating to the gastric mucosa, and quitting smoking and drinking. Pay attention to food hygiene, avoid overeating, and eat less high-starch foods such as potatoes, taro, sweet potatoes, etc.

2. Drug treatment: mainly focuses on eradicating Helicobacter pylori, inhibiting gastric acid secretion and protecting gastric mucosa. H2 receptor antagonists, proton pump inhibitors, acid suppressants plus two antibiotics are used to treat Helicobacter pylori.
