Where is the fourth lumbar vertebra?

Everyone knows that Chinese medicine is very profound, especially Chinese medicine health care has been very popular in recent years. The human body is composed of many acupoints, and different acupoints have different effects on human health. Many people nowadays have abnormalities in their lumbar spine at a young age due to work reasons. The lumbar spine is a very important part, and once abnormalities occur, active treatment is needed.

Where is the fourth lumbar vertebra in the human body?

The fourth lumbar vertebra is usually located where the iliac spines on both sides of our human body connect. Of course, there are some differences in different body shapes and physiques. For 80 to 90 percent of patients, we will use the method of connecting the iliac spines on both sides to determine the position of the lumbar vertebra during surgery. Of course, this is only a rough estimate and may not be so accurate in people of different body shapes, different races and different diseases.

Normal human anatomy (for normal, healthy, and trauma-free humans) locates the fourth lumbar vertebra: For surface positioning, you can choose to make a horizontal line with the superior iliac spines (the bilateral bones that can be felt when you put your hands on your hips, and choose the highest points on both sides of the symmetry) as the horizontal line, and the intersection with the midline of the human back (which can be said to be the longitudinal axis of the human body's left-right symmetry) is the fourth lumbar vertebra. This is how the fourth lumbar vertebra is located clinically. Of course, there are some cases with trauma or lumbar deformity and degeneration (ankylosing spondylitis, lumbar compression fractures, etc.), so there will be individual differences, but the differences are not significant. The easiest way is to put your hands on your waist with your thumbs facing backwards. After you touch the above bones, the intersection of your thumbs is the spinous process of the fourth lumbar vertebra.

What are the hazards of lumbar disease

1. The incidence of lumbar spine diseases is relatively high. If symptoms of neural tube compression occur, the patient may experience weakness in the limbs and may also experience a significant loss of pain. This will have a certain impact on health and may also cause severe local edema.

2. Patients with lumbar spondylosis may experience swelling and pain in the waist, and may also suffer from sciatica. If they sit for a long time, they may experience numbness in the lower limbs and even difficulty walking. Therefore, there should be a good treatment plan for lumbar spondylosis.

3. Patients with lumbar spondylosis may suffer from sciatica, and may also experience obvious pressure in the lumbar area. If the lumbar disease is serious, it may also cause paralysis to the patient. Therefore, patients with lumbar spondylosis should choose a good treatment method.

Note:

There are many factors that induce lumbar spondylosis. It may be caused by trauma or lumbar disc herniation. If lumbar spondylosis occurs, there should be a good treatment plan that can effectively relieve the symptoms of low back pain.
