Jade dew is a plant. It looks like a dewdrop in appearance, so it is called jade dew. The jade dew plant has a strong ornamental value. Many families who like to grow potted plants will cultivate this plant. However, this plant may also have some abnormal behaviors. For example, its color will turn brown. So why does jade dew turn brown? The jade plant turns black or gray and shrinks a little because the light is too strong. Move it to a bright place with diffuse light and slowly care for it, and it will recover. Not all succulents are like Echeveria, which requires as much light as possible. Some succulents, such as Jade, will not only become ugly if exposed to too much light, but will also affect their growth. Generally speaking, 1-2 hours of non-midday light a day is enough. If the leaves of the plant tend to turn gray, the light time should be reduced. If the leaves of the plant tend to elongate and spread out, and the center of the leaves turns white, a small amount of light should be added. Another reason why the jade plant turns black and gray may be that the environment is too dry. Some flower lovers grow jade plants in the open air, and the color can turn into a very transparent purple, which looks very healthy. Keeping the plant in a sealed environment and spraying water to increase the humidity may help increase the transparency of the plant, but this is not suitable for plants that are already growing poorly. It also has something to do with the variety. Some jade plants, such as Jade Plant No. 1, can turn purple and red after being exposed to the sun, but some may not be able to reach their full potential. Jade plant prefers a cool semi-shady environment. Its main growing period is in the relatively cool spring and autumn seasons, and it requires a certain level of air humidity. It is drought-resistant but not cold-resistant. It avoids high temperature, humidity and scorching sun exposure. It is afraid of shade and waterlogging in the soil. In production, it is generally planted in pots in a greenhouse or in the seedbed. It is sensitive to light. If the light is too strong, the leaves will grow poorly and appear light reddish brown. Sometimes strong direct light can burn the leaves, leaving unsightly scars. Jade plant is native to South Africa and likes warm, dry and semi-shady environment. It is not cold-resistant and avoids high temperature, humidity and scorching sun. It is afraid of water and the suitable temperature for its growth is 18~22 degrees. It is suitable for growing in an environment with warm winters and cool summers. When the temperature is high in summer, the jade plant is dormant or semi-dormant, and its growth is slow or completely stagnant. It can be kept in a ventilated, cool and dry place, and avoid exposure to the sun and long-term rain. Do not water it too much, stop fertilizing, and resume normal management after the autumn cools down. The lowest temperature in winter is around 8℃ at night and above 20℃ during the day. |
