What are the benefits of vitamin B

It is well known that vitamin B belongs to a group of compounds, which exist in various structures in the diet and are also known as B vitamins. It is one of the indispensable substances for sugar metabolism. Once a person has problems with vitamin B, it will inevitably affect his digestive function and secretion of digestive juice. In short, it is very detrimental to human health. So what are the benefits of proper supplementation of vitamin B to the body?

Vitamin B is a general term for certain vitamins. It is a group of compounds with different structures, so its members have independent names, such as vitamin B1, and vitamin B is a general term, sometimes also called B vitamins, B vitamins or vitamin B complex. Vitamin B are all water-soluble vitamins that work synergistically to regulate metabolism, maintain skin and muscle health, enhance the function of the immune and nervous systems, and promote cell growth and division (including promoting the production of red blood cells and preventing anemia).

Vitamin B has these functions:

1. It is a key substance in the process of sugar metabolism. The energy needed by the body's muscles and nerves is mainly provided by carbohydrates, so they are most vulnerable. If VB is sufficient, the nerve cells will be full of energy, which can relieve anxiety and tension and increase the tolerance to noise, etc.; otherwise, it will lead to a decline in the ability to cope with stress, and even cause neuritis, and in severe cases, beriberi. Its evolution process is: physical weakness—fatigue—irritability, depression—constipation—neuritis—heart pain—heart failure—edema. In 1897, Dutch doctors discovered that eating refined rice can lead to beriberi, mainly due to a lack of vitamin B1, so B1 is also called anti-beriberi vitamin.

2. It is closely related to the metabolism of sugar, protein and fat. Maintain and improve the health of epithelial tissues, such as those of the eyes and mucosal tissues of the digestive tract. Severe deficiency may cause visual fatigue, corneal congestion, angular cheilitis, etc. When patients have angular cheilitis, doctors often ask them to take riboflavin, also known as B2.

3. Poor fat metabolism can cause seborrheic dermatitis, acne, and acne. Supplementing with vitamin B has a very good effect.

4. Lack of B vitamins can lead to weak gastrointestinal motility and poor secretion of digestive juices, causing indigestion, constipation, bad breath, and smelly stools.

5. B3 constitutes a coenzyme of dehydrogenase in the body and plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Severe deficiency can cause neurological, skin and digestive tract diseases, called pellagra, also known as triple D disease, which manifests as dermatitis, diarrhea and dementia.

6. Helps body tissues utilize oxygen, promotes oxygen absorption by skin, nails, and hair tissues, and eliminates or improves dandruff.

7. Removes toxins such as alcohol and nicotine, relieves headaches and migraines, and protects the liver.

8. B11. B12 deficiency will affect the synthesis of thymine, purine, etc., causing DNA synthesis disorders. This ultimately leads to the immaturity of the red blood cell nucleus and the production of ineffective red blood cells, which is megaloblastic anemia.

9. If there is a lack of folic acid during the first three months of pregnancy, it can lead to neural tube defects in the fetus, thereby increasing the incidence of split-brain and anencephaly.

10. B vitamins (mainly vitamin B2) have a special smell and are the vitamins that mosquitoes hate the most, so they have a certain degree of mosquito repellent effect.
