What's wrong with the blood pimples on my head?

The situation of blood pimples on the head is actually caused by a vascular disease, which we can call hemangioma. It can be caused by congenital factors. The incidence of this disease in men is much lower than that in women, and the cause of this disease has not been studied so far. This disease has certain specific manifestations after it occurs. So what is the matter with blood pimples on the head?

Hemangioma is a congenital benign tumor or vascular malformation commonly found in the skin and soft tissue, formed by the proliferation of angioblasts during the embryonic period. It is more common in infants at birth or shortly after birth. The residual embryonic angioblasts and active endothelial-like germs invade the adjacent tissues to form endothelial-like cords, which are then connected to the remaining blood vessels after tubulation to form hemangiomas. The blood vessels within the tumor form their own system and are not connected to the surrounding blood vessels. Hemangiomas can occur anywhere in the body, with those occurring in the oral and maxillofacial area accounting for 60% of all hemangiomas in the body, followed by the trunk (25%) and limbs (15%). Most of them occur in the facial skin, subcutaneous tissue and oral mucosa, such as the tongue, lips, and floor of mouth, and a few occur in the jawbone or deep tissue. It is more common in women, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1:3 to 1:4.

The cause of this disease is unknown. Studies have shown that the use of progesterone or chorionic villus sampling during pregnancy, pregnancy-induced hypertension and low birth weight in infants may be related to the formation of hemangiomas. Some people believe that hemangiomas develop into hemangiomas due to small-scale misconfiguration of the controlling gene segments during human embryonic development, especially in the early stage of vascular tissue differentiation. This leads to abnormal tissue differentiation in specific areas and the formation of hemangiomas. In the early embryonic period (8 to 12 months), the embryonic tissue suffers mechanical damage, and local tissue bleeding causes some hematopoietic stem cells to be distributed to other embryonic cells, some of which differentiate into vascular-like tissue and eventually form hemangiomas.

General laboratory test results showed no specific findings. For those with more superficial and localized tumors, the examination plan is mainly based on the examination frame "A". For those with deeper disease or huge tumors, the examination plan may include examination frames "B" and "A". Neck X-rays are valuable in understanding the size and extent of deep tumors or whether the tumors invade the cervical spine or laryngeal cartilage.

If angiography is performed before surgery, the nutrient branches of the hemangioma can be understood. Ligating the supplying blood vessels at both ends of the hemangioma can reduce intraoperative bleeding and facilitate complete resection of the hemangioma. Ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, or fine-needle aspiration may be performed to confirm the diagnosis.
