Aquatic plants that purify water

Aquatic plants that purify water

If the water in the lake is not managed regularly, a lot of seaweed will easily grow. This in turn causes water pollution, and this situation can be curbed if some plants are planted in the water. You can often see a lot of reeds and lotus flowers in the river, especially the lotus flowers, which are particularly beautiful. Not only is it pleasing to the eye, it can also improve water quality. It is undoubtedly one of people's favorite plants.

1. Cattail: Typha genus, Typhaceae, perennial marsh herb, propagated by division. Its cattails can be used as cut flowers or dried flowers.

2. Reed: Phragmites australis of the Poaceae family, propagated by sowing or division. It is effective in purifying water quality. For example, if you arrange the reeds on the natural waterside, it will have a wild charm.

3. Lotus: Nymphaeaceae, genus Nymphaea, a perennial aquatic plant, propagated by division or sowing. The lotus has beautiful flowers and leaves and is fragrant. It is an excellent plant material for beautifying water surfaces, embellishing pavilions, or for potted ornamental plants.

4. Water plantain: a perennial aquatic herb of the Cyperaceae family with tall, straight, lush green stems. Its variant, variegated water plantain, has yellow ring spots on its stems and has certain ornamental value. Water plantain is usually propagated by division in early spring, and shallow water is preferred in the early stages of planting. The stems of water plantain are tall and green, and are often used for greening water surfaces or as shore embellishments.

5. Duckweed, also known as green duckweed: Duckweed can absorb and accumulate a large amount of heavy metal elements in the coal washing wastewater of power plants, and can effectively absorb, accumulate and decompose nutrients and various organic pollutants in the wastewater.

Configuration principles of water features and aquatic plants:

1. The distance between aquatic plants and the water's edge should be varied, some far and some near, some sparse and some dense. Avoid planting them at equal distances along the edge, and leave necessary perspective lines.

2. Pay attention to the coordination between the three-dimensional contour lines of the plant community and the style of the waterscape.

3. The mirror effect of the water surface should also be considered. The plants on the water surface should not be too crowded, generally not exceeding one-third of the water surface, so as not to affect the reflection effect of the water surface and the aesthetic effect of the water body itself. For water surfaces with little visual effect, the density of plant configuration can be increased to form a green landscape.

4. The spread of planted plants should be strictly controlled. Isolation green belts can be set up, or they can be planted in pots and placed in water.
