Development time of secondary sexual characteristics

Development time of secondary sexual characteristics

Puberty is our second development period. Girls develop a little earlier than boys, starting at around 10 years old. Their breasts will slowly develop and they will also start to grow body hair. Compared with boys, their second development begins at around the age of 14. During this period, their height will grow rapidly, their voice will change, and their Adam's apple will become more and more obvious. This development will not only cause great changes in our bodies, but also in our psychology.

1. Breast development

The development of female breasts is mainly caused by sex hormones and insulin secreted by the ovaries. Women's breasts basically do not change before puberty, and are not even much different from men's breasts. When girls are 8 to 10 years old, their breasts begin to develop, first manifested by protruding nipples; around 10 to 13 years old, their breasts become larger and more prominent, mainly due to the development of the mammary glands, and the fat in the breasts increases, and a more obvious areola begins to appear; between 13 and 15 years old, the nipples and areola become more prominent; between 16 and 20 years old, the breasts continue to develop and approach that of adults. In addition, women's breasts will also become larger to varying degrees after sexual intercourse.

2. The appearance of body hair

1. Pubic hair. The development process of pubic hair: fine villi appear; pubic hair appears on the labia majora, which is lighter in color and sparse in number; the pubic hair becomes thicker, darker in color, and curled; it tends to be adult-like, but in smaller numbers; and like adults, it becomes an inverted triangle.

Here, readers need to be reminded that it is normal for some women to have no pubic hair and it will not affect their sexual life and fertility. In some traditional concepts, women who do not have pubic hair are considered "white tigers" and are not good for their husbands. This concept has no scientific basis at all.

2. Armpit hair. The development of armpit hair is a little later, usually starting to appear when females are 9 to 11 years old.

With the appearance of female secondary sexual characteristics, female gender characteristics become more obvious, from a little girl to a big girl. Women must treat the changes in their bodies during this period correctly. This is normal physiological development. Don't be shy, but treat the wonderful changes that puberty brings to you with a calm and normal attitude.
