Toilet cleaner ingredients

With the improvement of living standards, more and more people live in high-rise buildings. Nowadays, many people work, study and live in high-rise buildings. The bathroom is a must for every household, and the toilet solves people's excretion problems. In order to solve the hygiene problem of toilets, people have developed toilet cleaners, a cleaning liquid. Here I will introduce to you the ingredients of daily toilet cleaners.

What are the ingredients of toilet cleaner?

The main ingredients of toilet cleaners are generally acids, surfactants, fragrances, corrosion inhibitors, etc., among which acid is the most important raw material. There are many acids that can be used in toilet cleaning products. The main acids used are inorganic acids, while organic acids are rarely used. Inorganic acid salts mostly use hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, aminosulfonic acid and other low molecular weight organic acids. Sulfuric acid is generally not used because the compounds formed by the reaction of sulfuric acid and scale are also insoluble. Considering the cost and effect, many manufacturers still choose hydrochloric acid as the main raw material for toilet cleaners.

Toilet cleaners mainly rely on acid to achieve their cleaning effect. Hydrochloric acid can remove dirt in the toilet because the main components of urine scale are calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide, which will react with hydrochloric acid to form water-soluble substances. Since human excrement will produce a large amount of NH3 after fermentation in the toilet, general toilet cleaners use hydrochloric acid as the main ingredient to neutralize the produced NH3. Toilet cleaners mainly rely on acids to achieve their cleaning and sterilization effects. Hydrochloric acid is the most commonly used acid in toilet cleaners. Hydrochloric acid has a strong irritating odor. In order to cover up this unpleasant odor, most products add substances such as flavors.

Toilet cleaners cannot be used at the same time as other cleaning products. Some people mix multiple detergents and disinfectants together, thinking that the decontamination and cleaning effects will be better, but they do not realize that this is more harmful to human health. Experts warn that toilet cleaning powder must never be mixed with bleach or disinfectants. Because toilet cleaning powder is used together with bleach, and bleach is mixed with ammonia-containing cleaners, a certain amount of toxic ammonia gas can be produced. It can cause adverse irritation to the eyes, nose and throat, and in severe cases it can also burn the lungs. Because toilet cleaners are mixed with hydrochloric acid, they have a high chlorine content and when they interact with detergents they produce a toxic gas - chlorine, which can easily cause poisoning.
