What to do if mold grows on the wall

Summer is a season of humidity indoors. If you don't clean it in time and keep it dry, mold-like spots will appear on the walls. These spots are grayish white and can cause serious corrosion to the wall, and even look very ugly. If you want to restore the wall to its original state, let's see how to fix it.

How to clean mold on the wall

Tools/Raw Materials

Towels, gloves, sandpaper

Soapy water, mildew cleaner, T-coat mildew inhibitor

Methods/Steps

If you find that the wall has been moldy for a short time, you can deal with it according to this method. First, dip a clean towel in soapy water, then wring it out and wipe the moldy areas. If it is a little difficult to clean the mold spots, you need to dip a clean towel in mildew cleaner, wring it out and wipe it. The mildew on the wall can be easily cleaned.

If the mold on the wall has been discovered for too long, it will be a little troublesome to clean it because the mildew has penetrated into the inside of the whitewash. It needs to be sanded off layer by layer with sandpaper until the mildew disappears. After cleaning, first smooth the entire wall, and if whitewash needs to be re-scraped, it needs to be supplemented.

After the wall is smooth, we need to spray or brush a layer of latex paint on the wall. This step is very important. This is our step to prevent mold growth in the later stage. You only need to add 1% 5700T paint mildew inhibitor to the latex paint, then stir it evenly, and brush or spray it on the entire wall.

If the wall is covered with decorative cloth or wallpaper and causes mold, you need to use a rag dipped in anti-mildew and antibacterial cream to wipe the moldy area. Be careful to control the amount of application. High humidity will cause the adhesive to not adhere firmly to the wall. If the mold has been there for a long time, you need to replace the wallpaper or decorative cloth. When attaching new decorations, be sure to add 1.5% of the glue anti-mildew agent to the glue to ensure that the decorations attached later will not mold.

Precautions

Note that when adding anti-mold agents, you need to stir them evenly before use. The use of anti-mold agents is to avoid skin allergies in some individuals. You need to wear rubber gloves and masks when operating.

If the paint needs to be mildew-proof, you can also add mildew inhibitors to the paint, so that the later decoration will directly use mildew-proof paint with mildew-proof effect.

After using the anti-mold agent, if your skin comes into contact with the anti-mold agent, you need to wash it with soapy water.
