What can I use to wash off old blood stains

We all know that if blood stains our sheets and clothes accidentally and they are left there for too long, the blood stains will become very difficult to clean after they dry. It would be very sad if a valuable or beloved item of clothing was stained with blood. What can I use to wash off the old blood stains? Simply rinsing with clean water will definitely not be effective. You can use white vinegar, ginger, lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, etc. to wipe and clean the area, which can achieve good results. The specific method is shared with you below.

Conventional blood stain cleaning methods

1. Pour white vinegar on the blood stains and soak them for 10-15 minutes, then rinse them twice with clean water to remove the blood stains.

2. You can scrub it with ginger first, and then rub it with cold water to clean it very well.

3. You can soak it in cold water for a while, then rub and wash it with soap, washing powder or detergent, and then rinse it with clean water after washing.

4. You can also drop a few drops of hydrogen peroxide on the blood stains, or rub and wash with white radish juice to remove the blood stains.

5. You can use white radish juice or mashed carrots mixed with salt to remove blood stains on clothes.

6. When blood is just contaminated, wash it immediately with cold water or light salt water (hot water is forbidden because blood contains protein, which will coagulate when heated and is not easy to dissolve), and then wash it with soap or 10% potassium iodide solution.

7. Wipe the stained area with 10% tartaric acid solution and then rinse with cold water.

8. Use enzyme laundry detergent to remove blood stains with very good results.

If it is white clothing, you can soak the fabric in a 3% vinegar solution, leave it for 12 hours, and then rinse it with water. The effect is good. When the blood stains on white clothing are old and have been firmly attached to the clothes, you can use a 5% baking soda solution to soak them, take them out after soaking them overnight, then soak the blood stains with a bleach solution (1 part bleaching powder to 10 parts water), and rinse them carefully with water.

Blood stains on exquisite dyed silk and wool garments: You can use starch and water to make a paste, then apply the paste on the blood stains and let it dry. After it is completely dry, scrape off the starch, wash it with soapy water first, then rinse it with clean water, and finally wash it with vinegar solution made of 15 grams of vinegar and 1 liter of water. The effect is quite good.

Tips:

Blood contains protein, which is difficult to dissolve when exposed to heat, so cold water must be used to clean blood stains.
