How to remove harmful gases such as formaldehyde?

Modern people's living conditions have greatly improved. Most people live in high-rise residential areas, and most of them are new houses. The first thing to do when living in a new house is to decorate it. However, modern decoration materials are full of inferior products, which contain a large number of harmful substances. Harmful substances, mainly formaldehyde, have brought great harm to people's bodies. Let's take a look at how to remove harmful gases such as formaldehyde?

1. Open windows for ventilation

In a newly renovated house, all windows should be opened to allow air circulation and reduce harmful substances in the indoor air. Homeowners who are renovating their homes in winter should also pay special attention not to close the doors and windows because it is cold. If the air does not circulate, the formaldehyde content in the room will be too high and the radon gas concentration will also increase.

2. Activated carbon adsorption method

Activated carbon adsorption is the most effective method for removing formaldehyde, mainly because the porous structure of activated carbon determines its strong adsorption capacity; moreover, it has low cost, good effect, and a relatively long service life, so activated carbon is the best way to eliminate formaldehyde.

3. Plant formaldehyde removal

Plants can only absorb formaldehyde at relatively low concentrations, and they are inefficient and slow to react to harmful substances. When the concentrations of harmful substances and formaldehyde are high, the plants will wither and die.

4. Local methods to eliminate formaldehyde hazards

Soak two basins of water with 350 grams of black tea, put it in the room, open the window for ventilation, and wait for 48 hours. The formaldehyde content in the room will drop by more than 90% and the irritating odor will be basically eliminated.

5. Ozone removes formaldehyde

Excessive ozone can cause harm to the human body, irritate the respiratory tract, cause sore throat, and nerve poisoning. Long-term exposure to ozone can easily cause cancer. Therefore, using ozone to remove formaldehyde is not advisable and can easily cause secondary pollution.

6. High temperature fumigation

High-temperature fumigation can only temporarily remove formaldehyde. If the pollution source cannot be provided with sufficient and continuous heat energy so that the pollutants can obtain enough heat energy to become active and volatilize, it may bring some hidden dangers. In addition, high temperature can easily cause wallpaper and furniture to crack and warp, causing unnecessary trouble.
