What to do if contact lenses are difficult to remove

As more and more people become myopic, glasses have become an item that many people have to wear. For myopic people who find wearing framed glasses troublesome, contact lenses are a good choice. Of course, compared to frame glasses, although contact lenses can make people look more beautiful, it is still difficult to put on and take off contact lenses smoothly. So, what should you do if your contact lenses are difficult to remove?

1. What are the reasons why contact lenses cannot be removed?

1. Incorrect wearing habits

Some people go home after a tiring day and fall asleep without taking off their contact lenses. When they wake up the next day, they are easily unable to take them off. When you sleep, the amount of tears decreases, the eyes are in a state of hypoxia and dehydration, the corneal epithelium is prone to edema, and contact lenses are more likely to stick to the eyeball and cannot be removed.

Recommendation: The wearing time should be controlled within 8 hours per day, and you should not wear them while sleeping; it is best to take off the contact lenses during lunch break.

2. Eye diseases

When the eyes are inflamed, some protein mucus will be secreted, the eyes will easily swell and become larger, and the contact lenses will be sucked tighter.

Recommendation: When your eyes are inflamed, try not to wear contact lenses. Wait until the inflammation is healed and then wear contact lenses under the doctor's advice.

3. The base curve of the contact lens is too small

Everyone's eyeballs are of different sizes. Many people do not consider the curvature of their eyeballs when purchasing contact lenses. The contact lenses they wear are too tight and they may not be able to take them off.

Recommendation: When buying contact lenses for the first time, it is best to go to a regular eyewear store or ophthalmology hospital to measure your corneal curvature. When choosing contact lenses, choose a contact lens base curve that suits you according to your corneal curvature to avoid the contact lenses being too tight.

4. The process of contact lenses

Some contact lenses are difficult to remove, which is caused by the craftsmanship of the contact lenses. In such a situation, the editor recommends changing to another contact lens brand that suits you. Nowadays, more and more brands of contact lenses are beginning to work hard on the wearing experience. Taiwan's MiruoCon has adopted an asymmetrical edge arc design, which can guide tears and oxygen into the middle of the lens and the cornea to reduce friction and make it easier to put on and take off.

2. What to do if you can't take off your contact lenses

1. Before taking off your glasses, make sure your fingernails are trimmed short and wash your hands with hand sanitizer or soap.

2. Put a few drops of eye drops into the eye that cannot be removed to moisten the contact lens. Take off the contact lens after your eyes feel comfortable.

Warm reminder: Do not use eye drops or care solution when wearing contact lenses. Use special contact lens eye drops!

3. Use the index finger of your left hand to pull up the upper eyelid of the eye where you want to remove the glasses, and use the index finger of your right hand to gently pull down the lower eyelid. Use the thumb and index finger of your right hand to gently touch the eyeball, sliding from the outside to the inside. When you feel the contact lens, you can take it off.

Warm reminder: Never use tools to force the glasses to be removed, and do not leave them unattended and wear contact lenses overnight, otherwise it will cause further damage to your eyes. If the contact lenses still cannot be removed, you can go to the hospital and ask a doctor for help. Never rub or squeeze them by yourself or pick them with your fingers, as this can easily damage your eyes.
