What to do if the femoral head is broken

What to do if the femoral head is broken

People's bodies seem strong but are actually very fragile. Many external stimuli may cause fatigue and bone fractures. Femoral head fracture is relatively unfamiliar to most people. This situation is usually caused by impact, which is a relatively serious fracture and will have a direct impact on people's lives. Therefore, timely treatment is necessary. So what should you do if the femoral head is broken?

1. Treatment

Femoral head fractures are generally difficult to repair, and the joint surface can easily become uneven, leading to traumatic osteoarthritis or femoral head necrosis. Generally speaking, joint replacement is necessary in this case. There are many types of non-surgical treatments for femoral head fractures, including wearing anti-rotation shoes and lower limb skin traction, but this is only suitable for older patients, fractures without obvious displacement, abduction or inlay type and other stable fractures. It is recommended to avoid wind and cold and keep warm. Avoid walking, standing for long periods of time, and strenuous exercise. Avoid eating raw, cold and cool foods, and eat more warming and nourishing foods. The living environment should be warm and dry, avoiding humidity.

2. Fractures in the elderly

If an elderly person breaks a bone, he or she should go to the hospital immediately for a basic check-up. You can listen to the doctor's professional answers and analyze the pros and cons. If the elderly person is too old, try not to perform surgery easily to avoid affecting the elderly person's body. If the elderly person is still strong and can withstand the risks, surgery is recommended.

3. Conditioning

A reasonable diet plan should be formulated according to the different degrees of fracture. In the early stages of fracture, attention should be paid to correcting water and salt loss. It is advisable to choose a semi-liquid diet that is low in fat, high in vitamins, sodium, iron, high in water content, light in taste, and easy to digest. 4 to 5 meals a day. Patients with minor injuries due to limb fractures can have a normal diet, three meals a day, and a snack of vitamin AD milk or calcium-fortified yogurt in the afternoon. In the late stage of fracture: a diet high in protein, fat, sugar, calories, vitamins, calcium, zinc and copper can be given to facilitate fracture healing and replenish the body's consumption.
