How to quickly relieve leg cramps

How to quickly relieve leg cramps

Leg cramps are a sign of calcium deficiency. For example, if a person maintains a posture for a long time or soaks in cold water for too long, it may cause leg cramps. It is very uncomfortable after a leg cramp. At this time, you must find a way to save yourself and relieve the pain quickly. Try your best to grab the left thumb where the cramp occurs and pull it towards the body. During this process, you should also try to straighten your leg and stretch it with force. In this way, you can relieve the problem of leg cramps.

The first method is: Whenever a leg cramp occurs, you can immediately grab the big toe on the cramping side with your hand, and then slowly pull the sole of the foot towards you, which can stretch the gastrocnemius muscle. Then slowly straighten your feet, and then stretch your legs forcefully, and your calf muscles will stop cramping; or you can use both hands to vigorously massage your calves, which will also be effective.

The second method is to lean forward against a wall with your heels on the ground. Simply standing and focusing your weight on the cramping leg can help, but be careful not to fall: having someone nearby to help is even better. Warmth (using an electric blanket or warm but not boiling water) or massaging the legs and feet can also help the muscles relax, but it is best to try stretching first.

Drink milk or soy products every day, and regularly eat eggs, kelp, seaweed, dried shrimps, sesame seeds, hawthorn, sea fish and nuts (such as peanuts, almonds, cashews); regularly exercise outdoors and get some sun. The sun can help us increase the vitamin D content in our body and promote calcium absorption. Smoking, drinking, frequent coffee, tea, cola or excessive salt intake will affect calcium absorption.

1. When cramps occur, just do the opposite, that is, bend your toes in the direction opposite to the force and persist for more than 1 to 2 minutes, and the effect will be achieved. Specifically, if the muscles in the back of the calf cramp, you can bend your foot so that the sole of the foot is lifted up, and at the same time try to straighten the knee joint; when the muscles in the front of the calf cramp, you can press down on the sole of the foot and bend the toes forcefully.

2. Sit up instead of lying down, straighten the cramped leg, hold the front of your foot tightly with your hand, endure the severe pain, and rotate the ankle joint of the cramped leg outwards. The severe pain will stop immediately. The movements should be continuous when rotating, and you should complete one circle in one breath without pausing in between. When rotating, if it is the left leg, rotate counterclockwise; if it is the right leg, rotate clockwise; if someone helps, the treatment should be performed face to face, and the rotation direction of the ankle joint remains unchanged. Use force when rotating and lift your feet as far as possible.

3. Press the nerve root of the gastrocnemius muscle head in the calf. On both sides of the inner side of the knee joint, there is a place where the gastrocnemius head is attached, and the nerve root trunk leading to the gastrocnemius muscle is here. When your calf cramps, use your thumb to feel for the main roots of the hard and protruding muscles on both sides, and then press this area forcefully. The nerves that dominate the excitement will calm down, the cramps will stop, and the severe pain will disappear. The effect is quick.

4. If you get cramps while swimming, the above two methods of pain relief will have certain difficulties in operation. If you get cramps while swimming, you can use your hands to pull the big toe towards the body. When pulling your big toe, straighten your thigh as far forward as possible while pushing your heel forward. It is often difficult to see effective results with just one application, so it can be done repeatedly until the symptoms are relieved. Of course, every time you pull the trigger, you must take a deep breath and dive into the water. The method to prevent calf cramps is relatively simple. Just massage and relax your calves before activities.

5. A permanent way to cure leg cramps is to burn a handful of rush into ashes and drink it with water. It only takes one time to cure it.
