Aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration

I believe that when you studied biology and climate in junior high school, you learned about aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration. In fact, the processes of aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration are similar. Generally, the respiration process of plants is anaerobic respiration and the respiration process of animals is aerobic respiration. Moreover, many plants can release oxygen and inhale carbon dioxide through breathing. So what are the differences between aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration?

Aerobic respiration refers to the process in which plant cells, with the participation of oxygen, completely oxidize and decompose certain organic matter, releasing carbon dioxide and forming water, while releasing a large amount of energy.

Anaerobic respiration refers to the complete or incomplete oxidation of organic carbon compounds. The electrons removed are transferred to exogenous inorganic oxides (sometimes organic oxides) through part of the electron transport chain and release less energy. Anaerobic respiration is a form of cellular respiration

The difference between aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration

The process of aerobic respiration to produce oxides requires oxygen, while the process of anaerobic respiration to produce oxides does not require oxygen. Aerobic respiration requires oxygen and produces oxides through oxidation, while anaerobic respiration does not require oxygen and produces oxides through decomposition.

We cannot simply use oxidation reactions and decomposition reactions in chemistry to define aerobic and anaerobic respiration.

Aerobic respiration:

Glucose + oxygen + water - carbon dioxide + water + a lot of energy.

The reaction process is divided into three stages: 1. Glucose in the cytoplasm generates pyruvate, reduces hydrogen, and generates a small amount of energy;

2. Pyruvate and water, in the mitochondria, generate carbon dioxide, reduce hydrogen, and generate a small amount of energy;

3. The reduced hydrogen and oxygen generated earlier generate water and a large amount of energy.

Anaerobic respiration:

Glucose——alcohol + carbon dioxide + a small amount of energy; (most plants, yeast, etc.)

Or: Glucose-Lactic acid + a small amount of energy; (animals, lactic acid bacteria, etc.)
