Are lemon trees poisonous when grown indoors?

Many people like the scent of lemon, which can refresh the mind and purify the air. In order to keep the indoor air fresh, some people grow lemon trees indoors, believing that the oxygen produced by photosynthesis and the fresh fruity fragrance released by the lemon trees will remain indoors. But some people believe that lemon trees can be toxic when grown indoors. So, are lemon trees toxic when grown indoors?

The fragrance of the lemon tree is harmless to human health, but it cannot be placed indoors, as the light and the surrounding environment will affect its normal growth.

Flowering and fruiting method:

1. Repotting and changing soil: Potted lemon trees must be repotted and the soil changed in spring from March to April. If the flowerpot is too small, you can change to a suitable one. If the flowerpot is still suitable, you can replace the soil in the original pot with new one. When changing the pot and soil, you should apply base fertilizer.

2. Spring pruning: Spring pruning should be carried out in conjunction with repotting in spring. Remove inner branches, dead branches and leaves, diseased and insect-infested roots and leaves, and overgrown branches to facilitate fruiting of the plants.

3. Reasonable fertilization: Lemon trees should be fertilized several times before flowering and after fruiting. Apply multi-element flower fertilizer once a month and spray flower nutrient solution once every half a month to ensure that the fruits are not easy to fall off and are large and bright in color.

4. Prevent leaf falling: Leaf falling affects the fruiting of lemon trees. To avoid leaf falling, avoid watering too much or too little during daily management.

5. Shade at noon: After the lemon tree blooms but before it bears fruit, when the temperature at noon exceeds 30°C, it should be shaded for about 3 hours, otherwise it will affect the normal shape of the flowers and prevent the plant from bearing fruit.

6. Artificial pollination: Artificial pollination is an important measure to produce more fruits. Pollination is best done after the petals have grown open. It is best to do this work around 9 am every day for better results.

7. Prevention and control of diseases and pests: Summer and autumn are the seasons when lemon trees are prone to diseases and pests, so prevention and control should be carried out. When controlling diseases and insect pests, prevention is more important than treatment. Spray the flower pesticide once every half month, around 9 am and 4 pm. Do not spray during the hot sun at noon to prevent pesticide damage.
