Why can't you drink the water that has just been boiled

Nowadays, many people don’t like to drink beverages, but think that boiled water is healthier and more hygienic. Moreover, most people like to drink boiled water, that is, hot water that has just been boiled, because they believe that the bacteria and impurities in the water at this time are the least. But in fact, you cannot drink water that has just been boiled. If you want to drink hot water, it is best to wait for a few minutes after the water boils before drinking it. Then why can’t we drink freshly boiled water?

Many people like to drink boiled water, but do you know that you cannot drink water as soon as it is boiled? Because our tap water is disinfected with chlorination, the chlorine combines with the organic matter remaining in the water to produce a variety of carcinogenic compounds such as halogenated hydrocarbons and chloroform. The correct way to do it is: first, let the tap water sit for a while before boiling it; open the kettle lid when the water is about to boil; finally, wait for 3 minutes after the water boils before turning off the heat. This will reduce the chlorine content in the water to a safe drinking standard, making it truly "boiled water."

1. Long-term water storage

After boiling water is left for a long time, the nitrogen-containing organic matter in it will continue to be decomposed into nitrite. Especially boiled water that has been stored for too long is inevitably contaminated by bacteria. At this time, the decomposition of nitrogen-containing organic matter is accelerated, and more nitrite is produced. After drinking such water, nitrite will combine with hemoglobin and affect the blood's oxygen transport function. Therefore, the composition of boiled water in thermos for many days, residual water from multiple boilings, and water that has been boiling on the stove for a long time has changed and cannot be drunk. You should drink boiled water once and not more than 24 hours later. In addition, various bottled or barreled purified water and mineral water should not be stored for too long. Large bottles or barrels of purified water or mineral water should not be consumed for more than 3 days.

2. Bottled Water

Bottled water is favored by more and more consumers because it is easy to carry and can be drunk right after opening the lid. However, the polyester bottles used for bottled water often contain substances that may cause chronic poisoning to the human body, especially when the bottles are in a high temperature environment or are not drunk in time after opening, the harmful substances will seep into the water and endanger health. Therefore, bottled water must not be exposed to heat or sunlight.

3. Tap water

After tap water is disinfected with chlorine, it can kill viruses and bacteria, but it cannot remove scale, heavy metals, volatile substances, etc. Are you still using your body as a filter? From the perspective of long-term healthy drinking water, it is recommended that you use a direct drinking water system to drink healthy and high-quality water directly.
