1. Basic Introduction

Shousanli acupoint, also known as Sanli, Guixie and Shangsanli, is called Shousanli because it can detect diseases in the upper, middle and lower parts of the body. Shousanli is located on the radial side of the back of the forearm, on the line connecting Yangxi and Quchi, 2 inches above the elbow crease.

The Shousanli point is located two inches below the Quchi point, and when pressed, it is at the end of the flesh. This point is widely used in clinical practice, but it is mostly used to treat shoulder and arm pain, but rarely to treat low back and leg pain. Ancient documents also record that Shousanli acupoint is used to treat "numbness of arms, elbow spasm and inability to extend", "soreness of elbows and arms, difficulty in flexion and extension", "stuttering due to stroke, paralysis of hands and feet", etc.

The Shousanli point is a "He point" on the Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian. The five elements attribute of this point is "earth", and the five elements attribute of the Large Intestine Meridian is also "earth". Because "earth" produces "gold", frequently massaging this point can also play a certain role in maintaining the lungs. Pressing and rubbing this point can treat belching, vomiting and diarrhea caused by intestinal diseases. If pressing this point is particularly painful (you can also check whether the Zusanli point is painful), the reason is: the Hand Yangming Meridian is affected by cold evil, which leads the Yangming Meridian's Yang Qi upward, causing a certain degree of chest tightness. If it is not relieved in time, the Yang Qi may continue to ascend, causing swollen and painful gums and cheek pain on the same side. If relieved in time, the disease will disappear on its own.

2. Acupoint selection method

When pressing this acupoint, the patient should sit upright, with the wrist sideways, the forearm straight and the elbow bent. The Shousanli point is located on the forearm, 3 finger widths forward from the elbow bend, on the line connecting Yangxi and Quchi. Press the painful area with your hand.

3. Main diseases

The main diseases treated by this point are: pressing Shousanli is effective for calming the mind and can treat psychological impotence; in addition, it is also effective for toothache and throat swelling. This point is one of the important acupoints on the hand yangming large intestine meridian of the human body. 4. Massage Techniques

Method of pressing the Shousanli acupoint: Press and rub 100 times in clockwise direction to clear away heat and expel evil, and have the effect of clearing away heat and relieving pain. Rubbing counterclockwise 100 times can regulate Qi and blood, have a tonic effect, and have the effect of conditioning and relieving pain. In addition, there is a very simple way to massage Shousanli, which is to place one arm on the table, then place the other elbow on the acupoint, and gently massage the point with your elbow.
