What to do if you have bad breath during fasting

In life, many people choose to lose weight through fasting. The so-called fasting means not eating grains. In fact, this method of weight loss is very unhealthy, because grains contain a lot of trace elements, which are good for the body. If the body lacks nutrients after fasting, the physical condition will become worse, which is particularly prone to cause a series of diseases. So what should you do if you have bad breath after fasting?

Why does fasting cause bad breath?

First: More than 80% of bad breath comes from the oral cavity. Many untreated diseases in the oral cavity may cause bad breath in the body, such as caries, poor restorations, gingivitis and periodontitis, etc. Among them, dental caries and Asian diseases are the most common causes of bad breath. Due to problems in the mouth, food will remain in the body, leading to the emergence of various bacteria. After fermentation and decomposition, the bacteria will produce odor, which is also the cause of bad breath. In addition, pulp necrosis or suppurative pulpitis may also cause bad odor if these diseases are not treated.

Second: If there is a disease in the tissues near the mouth, it is possible to produce purulent secretions, which can also cause bad breath. Common diseases include chronic maxillary sinusitis, purulent tonsillitis, and atrophic rhinitis, etc. In addition, some common medical diseases can also cause sour and bad taste in the mouth, such as acute gastritis, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, etc.

Third: Bad breath can occur due to hunger, smoking, taking irritating drugs or taking some special medicines in daily life. In addition, bad breath can also occur due to reduced saliva secretion during sleep, but these bad breath are relatively short-lived.

Precautions

Temporary bad breath caused by food will disappear quickly after rinsing your mouth and brushing your teeth or stopping eating these foods; mouth fresheners or chewing gum are specifically designed for bad breath caused by foods with volatile odors such as onions, garlic, curry, etc., and can quickly restore freshness to the mouth.
